London appeared to be getting into the swing of the party season last week as the city played host to a string of famous faces. A five-months pregnant Madonna and Lady Helen Taylor rubbed shoulders at a childrens’ cancer charity bash at London’s newest hotel, the Sanderson. The fun-loving young royal arrived on the arm of her husband, Tim Taylor, but spent some time dancing with flamenco king Joaquin Cortes.

The two are both friends of Giorgio Armani, who jetted into the capital to celebrate thr 25th birthday of his design house. The Italian, who has designed Joaquin’s costumes for his latest show, Soul, was at Sadler’s Wells Theatre for a Gala performance, before heading off to the aftershow party at Soho club 23 Romilly Street.

The next night, the designer was at the Royal Albert Hall for The Greatest Love Gala, another charity event. Presided over by Queen Rania of Jordan, the party included the first showing of Armani’s forthcoming collection outside Milan, and performances from Ricky Martin and Gabrielle.
