SARAH, DUCHESS OF YORK
interviews Bryan Adams to discover the motivation
behind his fundraising project
Bryan Adams recalls shooting one of the subjects of his
book, Haven. The doorbell rang and suddenly we were beseiged by
royal red hair. It was a fun afternoon. So who better than to interview
the singing photographer than Sarah, Duchess of York, owner of said flaming
locks. |

The singer explained: when you've written a good
song or when you've taken a good photo, it can
bring on the same satisfaction. It's all about
creating something from nothing.

The Duchess of York's
portrait she turned up for the
shoot accompanied bay her two daughters. The doorbell
rang and suddenly we were beseiged bay royal red
hair! It was a fun afthernoon, the singer recalls.
Bryan revealed to his interviewer how he got involved in
the charity and why. Supporting a cause is something that you sometimes
feel compelled to do when you have been touched by it in some way. I was when
my friend Donna passed away from the disease.
The rocker now shoots his own album covers and believes that that was the
turning point when his hobby turned into something more. I suppose the
best surprise was Kate Moss agreeing to be involved, because up until the last
minute I wasn't sure it would happen. She was fantastic.
It was another supermodel however, who encouraged Bryan to explore his hobby
more profoundly: fellow Canadian Linda Evangelista. She told me,
Just shoot, recalls the singer. She was a huge
inspiration to me in the beginning, in fact she was the one that encouraged me
to start taking photography more seriously. |
