Princess Ines Marie Lilian Silvia of Sweden is set to be baptized on her mom Princess Sofia and dad Prince Carl Philip's wedding anniversary. The Swedish Royal Court confirmed the date on Monday. The little Princess' baptism will take place on Friday, June 13, at Drottningholm Palace Chapel. A reception for invited guests and a private lunch will follow the baptism.
The date will mark a double celebration for the Prince Couple. Sofia and Carl Philip will celebrate 10 years of marriage that same day. The couple got married in 2015 at the Royal Chapel. "I don’t think I knew the magic of love before I met Sofia," Carl Philip told Swedish channel TV 4 ahead of their wedding (via HOLA! USA's sister brand HELLO! ). "But ever since I met her, I’ve seen how love can change a person."
Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia welcomed their first child Prince Alexander in 2016, followed by Prince Gabriel in 2017 and Prince Julian in 2021. The couple's fourth child was born on Feb. 7, 2025 at Stockholm's Danderyd Hospital.
"We are happy to welcome our newborn daughter into the world," proud dad Carl Philip said after the birth of his first baby girl (translated to English). "The big brothers are now looking forward to getting to know their new little sister."
Five days after Ines' arrival, the Prince Couple shared a snapshot of their newborn daughter surrounded by her three older brothers. "It was a perfect little quartet♥️," the heartwarming picture was captioned (translated to English). "A big and warm thank you for all the nice congratulations to our little Ines💕."
Months before her daughter's arrival, Sofia admitted to Vogue Scandinavia that she "always, always, always dreamt of a family." The Princess shared, "It’s one of my biggest goals in life. Not everyone has that – I had that."
“Both me and my husband come from a family of five – with three kids – so we thought that that would be a good number, and we felt quite satisfied with that," Sofia continued. "But, gratefully, there’s a bonus on the way. We feel very humble and grateful. It was maybe not in the plan, but now we are very, very excited. Especially the kids.”
Sofia and Carl Philip's kids are members of the Swedish royal family, but not the royal house. In 2019, the Prince's father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, removed his and Princess Madeleine's respective children from the royal house.
