Although the Sussexes have been living in the United States since 2020, they continue to observe the UK's Mother's Day. Meghan Markle celebrated the holiday on Sunday, March 30, with a post on her Instagram.

The Duchess of Sussex shared a snapshot of a lemon dessert being held by a little hand and an adult hand. "Our family tradition. Mothering Sunday in the UK 🍋," the mom of two captioned the photo.

Meghan, 43, shares five-year-old son Prince Archie and three-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet with her husband Prince Harry. Last year, the Duchess was away from her kids on Mother's Day in the United States. Meghan and Harry were in Africa at the time. The Duchess spoke about missing her "babies" during their visit to Nigeria.

"I am very, very grateful, I'm very humbled, and today is Mother's Day," the Duchess said in a TikTok shared by Arochukwu Network. "So it feels appropriate, but though of course we are missing our children, I'm missing my babies, but it feels very appropriate to be in the motherland and amongst family."

While in Nigeria, the Duchess also shared that "being a mom has always been a dream of" hers. "And I'm so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children," she said (via PEOPLE). "I love being a mom, I love being a mom."

At the Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age back in 2023, Meghan called being a mom "the most important thing" in her "entire life," outside of being a wife to Harry.

The Duke and Duchess welcomed their first child, Archie, in 2019 while they were still living in the UK. The couple's daughter, Lilibet, was born in 2021 in Santa Barbara, California.

During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this month, Meghan revealed that there are some words her kids say with a British accent. When asked by host Drew Barrymore, "What's your favorite thing that you see in your kids that you go, ‘Oh, that's their dad' like-?" Meghan replied, "Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent, so they'll say z-e-b-r-a and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out and because they have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him and I think it's adorable. Zebra is a good one."

Meghan also told Drew that she reads to her children even when she's away. The Duchess shared, "I always make it a point when I'm traveling if I can't do bedtime stories with my kids because Archie and Lili are just 3 and 5, so I'll always pack a really thin book and I'll videotape myself reading it so whoever's with them, Papa can say, ‘Here's mama reading your bedtime story.'"

She continued, "You find ways to show up for each other and if that's the one thing that I can convey through the show or through [her brand] As Ever as a brand, I want people to know you can show up for each other because you know how good it feels when someone shows up for you."
