Monaco Royals once again put on a show of elegance for the 69th edition of the iconic Rose Ball—the year’s most anticipated, glamorous, and symbolic charity event. Presided over by Princess Caroline of Monaco, the magical evening took place, as always, in the dazzling Salle des Étoiles at the Sporting Monte-Carlo, bringing together the Monegasque royal family, high society, international celebrities, and leading figures from the worlds of art, fashion, and entertainment.
Spain, as in previous years, was present at this unique evening. This time, renowned choreographer and dancer Blanca Li brought her talent to the event, leaving her mark on an unforgettable night in the Principality. With a career that spans contemporary dance, flamenco, and hip-hop—and collaborations with names like Beyoncé, Daft Punk, and the Paris Opera Ballet—her performance was one of the highlights of the show.
A sensory journey to the Caribbean
Under the theme 'The Rose Ball at Sunset,' designer Louboutin, serving as artistic director for the fourth year in a row, created a stunning atmosphere that transported guests to a lush Caribbean forest. The Salle des Étoiles was completely transformed with vibrant floral décor, evoking a true tropical paradise.
The Monaco Sunset Bar, designed as a laid-back seaside café, pulled guests into the scene. With cocktails in hand, Caribbean beats and reggaeton in the air, and sand underfoot, it all came together against the backdrop of a perfect sunset.
The Grimaldis, the stars of the night
As always, the Grimaldi family was the center of attention. Princess Caroline, radiant and elegant, stood out in a white one-shoulder gown with delicate silver floral details. At her side, Prince Albert arrived with Princess Charlene, who turned heads in a bold turquoise lace design by Dolce & Gabbana—a sheer, asymmetrical piece blending the look of a tunic and a dress.
The Caribbean took center stage, reflected in the vibrant color palette that shaped the evening’s fashion. Alexandra of Hanover stood out in a voluminous bubblegum pink tulle gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and delicate roses at the waist. Her partner, German businessman Ben-Sylvester Strautmann, made sure she looked flawless in every photo, carefully adjusting the skirt of her Giambattista Valli dress.
Beatrice Borromeo attended the event alone, with the absence of her husband Pierre Casiraghi drawing attention. She went for a sophisticated look in a draped and pleated red chiffon gown by Christian Dior, but it was her hairstyle that truly stood out—a braid styled like a tiara, finished with a ponytail.
Tatiana Santo Domingo chose a coral look with a subtle ethnic touch, wearing a jacquard linen-blend dress woven with carnations. The piece featured beaded details, an oversized bow, and asymmetric panels, paired with a sleek low bun. Andrea Casiraghi, her husband, opted for a classic black tuxedo, matching his sister's choice.
Charlotte, standing out against the night’s burst of color, chose a black princess-cut dress with a jeweled corset by Chanel that highlighted her figure. She completed her understated, polished look with a relaxed bun.
An unforgettable show
The event’s artistic program was, as always, spectacular. Blanca Li, one of the world’s most influential choreographers, brought her creativity to the show, adding her innovative take on dance to the evening.
The crowd was energized by the legendary British group Ebony Steel Band and the Guadeloupean collective Kozéika Panam, both bringing the pulse of the Caribbean to the stage. Carnival group Ethnick'97 marked 25 years of tradition, while Parisian DJ Carla Genus kept the dance floor alive until dawn.
The night wrapped up with a standout performance by Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay. The band’s original guitarist, joined by legendary musicians, brought the crowd to life with classics like September and Boogie Wonderland, ending the evening on a high note.
Reinventing the Rose Ball
The 2025 Rose Ball brought a completely different atmosphere from the previous edition, which paid an electrifying tribute to 1970s disco. That night, the venue turned into a dazzling scene with mirror balls and fuchsia lights, featuring performances by stars like Gloria Gaynor, Shangela, and Chad Michaels—taking guests straight to the golden era of Studio 54.
A tradition of luxury and glamour
Started in the 1950s by Princess Grace of Monaco, the Rose Ball remains one of the most exclusive events in the Principality. Over the years, renowned designers like the late Karl Lagerfeld and now Christian Louboutin have worked alongside Princess Caroline to create unique settings that capture the spirit of each edition.
More than an event, a charitable cause
Beyond the luxury and splendor, the Rose Ball stays true to its mission of giving back. As every year, the funds raised will go to the Princess Grace Foundation, which supports vulnerable children and funds humanitarian programs.
The 2025 Rose Ball proved once again that it's more than just a social event—it's a symbol of glamour, tradition, and philanthropy. As the music plays on and guests dance into the night, the countdown to the next edition has already begun—sure to surprise and captivate all over again.
