Six-month-old Princess Iman of Jordan is a big cousin! Her paternal aunt Princess Iman and uncle Jameel Alexander Thermiotis welcomed their daughter Amina on Feb. 16. Crown Prince Hussein took to his Instagram to celebrate the arrival of his younger sister and brother-in-law's first child.

The Crown Prince shared pictures of his newborn niece Amina, including a heartwarming photo of his daughter Iman reaching for her baby cousin.

"‏Welcome to the family, Amina!" Hussein captioned the pictures. "May you be a source of joy for your parents and a loving sister and lifelong companion to my daughter."

The Crown Prince's wife, Princess Rajwa, also appeared in a picture, standing between her husband and brother-in-law as they held each other's daughters. Hussein has previously shared that his and Rajwa's daughter is his sister Iman's "namesake."

Amina was born on Sunday at the Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Hospital in Aqaba. The baby's arrival came less than a month after it was revealed that Iman, 28, and Jameel, who wed in March 2023, were expecting their first child.

Proud grandmother Queen Rania congratulated her eldest daughter and son-in-law on the birth of their baby girl with a post on her personal Instagram. Alongside photos of the royal family's newest addition, Her Majesty wrote, "My darling Iman is now a mother. We’re grateful and overjoyed to meet Amina, our family’s newest blessing. Congratulations Jameel and Iman – may God bless you and your precious little girl."

Meanwhile, King Abdullah shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) of himself cradling his newborn granddaughter. "I congratulate my dear Iman and dear Jameel on the birth of their daughter, Amina," His Majesty penned (translated to English). "We thank God for His countless blessings, and we ask Him to protect her and make her one of the righteous," adding, "God bless you, Grandpa."

Amina is the King and Queen of Jordan's second grandchild. The royal couple became first-time grandparents last August with the arrival of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa's daughter Princess Iman

Back in 2022, Rania spoke about her desire to be a "fun grandma." During an appearance on Good Morning America, the Queen admitted, “I used to always say my favorite title is mama, but I think that’s going to quickly change” to the “Arabic word for grandma.”

“My goal is to be like fun grandma,” she added. “We have a saying in Arabic that no person is dearer to us more than our children than our grandchildren. So I’m really excited to have babies in my life soon.”
