Meghan Markle is away from her Valentine on Valentine's Day this year. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are celebrating the holiday on Friday apart, Meghan marked the romantic day with a loved-up snapshot of the two of them on her personal Instagram account.

Alongside a black-and-white photo of her and Prince Harry sharing a kiss, Meghan penned: "Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families. Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created."

"My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you," the Duchess of Sussex continued, adding the hashtag "#lovewins" and signing off the Instagram post with "As ever, M."

Prince Harry is still in Canada for the seventh edition of the Invictus Games. Meanwhile, Meghan left the sporting event early to return home to her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, in California. HOLA! USA understands that it was a pre-planned arrangement to ensure that the Duchess could be with her kids while Prince Harry continued to support the remainder of the 2025 Invictus Games, which end on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Meghan has admitted in the past that she is a “sucker for Valentine’s Day. On her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, the Duchess once wrote (via PEOPLE ), “Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day. Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss. This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way. But delusions of francophile grandeur aside, Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in Canada for Valentine's Day last year for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 One Year to Go events. Prince Harry recently spoke to PEOPLE about having his wife's support. While in Vancouver for the 2025 Invictus Games, Prince Harry told the outlet, "To have my wife here supporting me is amazing. I love that she’s by my side," calling it "such an important piece to this whole adventure."
