The Madrid Wax Museum has unveiled a stunning new wax figure of Princess Leonor, capturing a defining moment in her life. This meticulously crafted sculpture replaces her previous figure and marks her transition into adulthood. The grand reveal coincides with her 18th birthday and her historic oath to the Spanish Constitution at the Cortes, an event attended by her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, her sister Infanta Sofia, and high-ranking state officials.
"A renewed sculpture, crafted with precision and detail," stated the museum, emphasizing the artistry behind the lifelike representation of the Princess of Asturias.
A six-month artisanal masterpiece
The creation of Princess Leonor’s new wax figure was a meticulous endeavor, spanning six months and involving a team of dedicated artisans. In celebration of its 53rd anniversary, the Madrid Wax Museum upheld its commitment to historical accuracy and artistic excellence, ensuring that every aspect—from her facial features to her signature tailored ensemble—was flawlessly recreated.
Visitors can now admire this remarkable tribute to Spain’s future queen, an emblem of both tradition and transformation.
The Royal family in wax: A regal legacy
Princess Leonor’s likeness joins the prestigious collection of royal figures at the Madrid Wax Museum. Her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, and her grandparents, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia, have also been immortalized in wax, offering visitors a unique glimpse into Spain’s royal lineage.
Queen Letizia’s figure is particularly striking, dressed in a midnight blue gown with an intricate lace bodice, adorned with a replica of the Princess tiara—a sentimental gift from Felipe on their fifth wedding anniversary, featuring 600 stones and ten pearls.
Adding to the authenticity, the museum meticulously replicated Queen Letizia’s hair using over 1.5 kilograms of natural hair in various shades, ensuring an unparalleled level of realism.
With Princess Leonor’s latest addition, the Madrid Wax Museum continues to bring history to life, offering a captivating encounter with Spain’s royal heritage.
