Prince Nikolaos and Chrysi Vardinogianni are married! The couple tied the knot on Friday at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Ragavas in Athens. The bride stunned for her special day wearing a custom gown by Greek designer Christos Costarellos. The design, which was crafted at the Costarellos atelier, featured hand-beaded French lace, a round neckline with transparent elements and intricate beading on the bodice and skirt. The gown's scalloped lace edges were inspired by Ionic order columns, per the fashion brand.
According to a press release shared with HOLA! USA, "Christos Costarellos described the gown as combining classic and modern elements, tailored to the bride’s personal style. His design harmoniously merges his love for rich Greek history and art with delicate, romantic details. Chantilly lace was selected for its quality and texture, highlighting the craftsmanship involved in the gown’s creation."
Chrysi completed her bridal look with a silk tulle veil and tiara. The Royal Watcher reported that the bride was wearing the Antique Corsage Tiara, which is the same tiara Nikolaos' ex-wife, Princess Tatiana, wore for their royal wedding in 2010.
Chrysi and Nikolaos' wedding took place less than a year after the private office of the Greek royal family announced that the Prince and Tatiana were splitting. “We wish to inform you of a significant and heartfelt decision made by TRH Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana. After fourteen years of marriage, they have chosen to amicably dissolve their union. This decision was reached with great care and mutual respect, reflecting the depth of their appreciation for one another and the moments they have shared,” the royal family's private office shared on April 19, 2024.
“Their future interactions will continue to be guided by these same principles of respect and understanding, as they transition into a relationship rooted in a strong friendship. They will continue to live and build their lives in Greece, a place they both call home. The Family will always support them,” the announcement continued. “We warmly thank you for your understanding and for respecting their privacy during this time.”
Last month, it was reported that the Greek Prince was engaged. Days later, the royal family's private office confirmed on Jan. 29 that Nikolaos and Chrysi were set to wed on Feb. 7. Ahead of the wedding, Crown Prince Pavlos spoke about his younger brother Nikolaos on ANT1's La mañana (via HELLO!), saying, "I don’t think he’s nervous at all. I’m very happy, I think he’s very happy and the rest of you will have to ask him. I love being here and seeing that things are going well."
