Princess Stephanie received a special birthday wish from her daughter-in-law this year. Prince Albert of Monaco's younger sister turned 60 on Feb. 1. Marie Ducruet, who is married to Stephanie's son, Louis Ducruet, celebrated her mother-in-law's birthday with a photo (via Tatler) of Stephanie in grandmother mode, giving a bottle presumably to her granddaughter Constance Ducruet.
"Happy birthday to the best mother-in-law ❤️ & 'mauhmie' 😅," Marie wrote on the photo shared on her Instagram Story (translated to English).
Stephanie became a grandmother for the second time last year. Her first grandchild, and Marie and Louis' first child, Victoire Ducruet, was born in April 2023. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Constance, this past December.
Marie announced Constance's birth with photos on Instagram, including a sweet photo of Victoire holding one of her baby sister's hands. "Our family is growing again with the arrival of our little Constance ♥️ Someone was eager to meet her 🥰," the mom of two captioned the post.
Louis has previously opened up about his mother as a grandmother. In an interview with Point de Vue that was published by HELLO! in January 2024, Princess Stephanie's son shared, "She gives a lot of love to her grandchild. My mother has a busy daily schedule, but whenever it allows, she asks to look after Victoire. When she was born, my mother often asked us: ‘Do you want to go out to the cinema? I can look after the baby.'"
Louis also recalled how his mother reacted following the birth of her first grandchild, Victoire. He revealed, "It was incredibly emotional. She came to the maternity ward the day after Victoire's birth, alongside my dad [Daniel Ducruet] and my paternal grandmother, as well as Marie's mum. It was a magical moment that I'll never forget."
In the same interview, Marie shared that two kids "would be perfect" for her. Discussing at the time whether they planned on expanding their family, Marie said: "We're not opposed to the idea. Victoire is such an adorable child, she's making us want another. Two children would be perfect for me."
Louis added, "We'd like our children not to have a big age gap. We'll see what the future holds!"
Months after the interview was published, Marie announced in June that she and Louis were expecting their second child. Alongside photos of Victoire and their dog Pancake, Marie wrote (translated to English): “Pancake and goldilocks have an announcement to make... they are waiting for a new member in the fraternity, the family is growing 😍❤️.”
