Prince Nikolaos of Greece is getting married! The private office of the Greek royal family confirmed on Jan. 29 that the 55 year old will wed Chrysi Vardinogianni next week.

"The Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony of HRH Prince Nikolaos, now known as Nikolaos De Grèce, and Ms. Chrysi Vardinogianni will be held on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at 6:00 pm at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Ragavas in Athens in a private ceremony amongst close family and friends," the royal family's office said in statement.

It was reported earlier this month that Nikolaos and Chrysi, who is the daughter of shipowner George Vardinoyannis and Agapi Politi, were planning to marry in a "very private ceremony." According to HELLO! Greece, the couple's friendship goes back several years. Chrysi was reportedly at the wedding of Nikolaos' sister Princess Theodora last September and earlier this month, accompanied the Prince to a memorial service for his late father, Constantine II, the last King of Greece.

The couple's wedding is taking place less than a year after it was announced that Nikolaos and his first wife, Princess Tatiana, were splitting. “We wish to inform you of a significant and heartfelt decision made by TRH Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana. After fourteen years of marriage, they have chosen to amicably dissolve their union. This decision was reached with great care and mutual respect, reflecting the depth of their appreciation for one another and the moments they have shared,” the private office of the Greek royal family shared on April 19, 2024.

“Their future interactions will continue to be guided by these same principles of respect and understanding, as they transition into a relationship rooted in a strong friendship. They will continue to live and build their lives in Greece, a place they both call home. The Family will always support them,” the announcement continued. “We warmly thank you for your understanding and for respecting their privacy during this time.”

Tatiana recently wrote on her Instagram, "Sometimes before moving forward we need to take a step back." The Prince's ex-wife, who apart from her split, had a relative go missing last year, has previously described 2024 as a "difficult year." In an interview with BHMAgazino, published back in October, she said (translated to English): "2024 was indeed a difficult year for me, a transitional year, filled with moments of uncertainty and pain. But I believe that in adversity we often find our deepest strength. Life’s challenges remind me how important it is to endure, to hope, to have faith in the power of the human spirit. I relied on my family, my friends and my wider environment for support and I drew immense strength from them. Furthermore, my involvement with mental health has been therapeutic for me, as it has allowed me to channel my energy into something positive, with a positive impact."

"It all happened at the same time, it was like an avalanche of change in public view. And at the same time, I was working on the implementation of the 'Uniform of Hope' campaign, so I couldn’t withdraw from the public sphere even if I wanted to. The stories of hope and resilience that the athletes shared were a huge source of strength and inspiration for me personally at that time, and for that I feel grateful and I hope that our campaign can support and inspire others to overcome life’s difficulties, as it happened to me," she continued. "During that time, I also learned the importance of allowing yourself to feel, to grieve, to process your emotions, and to move forward with compassion for yourself. Through these challenges, I realized that while we cannot control what happens to us, we can choose how we react. I move forward with hope, knowing that even in the darkest moments there is always light and the opportunity to grow. My message to those facing adversity is to remember that we are never truly alone and that with patience and meaningful connection to those around us and ourselves, we can overcome even the most difficult situations."
