Prince Nikolaos of Greece seems to have found love again! According HELLO! Greece, the 55-year-old Prince and Chrysí Vardinoyannis, who is the daughter shipowner George Vardinoyannis and Agapi Politi, are reportedly planning to marry in a "very private ceremony" that is expected to only be attended by close friends and family.
The couple's friendship is said to go back several years. Per HELLO! Greece, Chrysí was at the wedding of Nikolaos' sister Princess Theodora last September and recently accompanied the Prince to a memorial service for his late father, Constantine II, the last King of Greece.
Reports of Nikolaos planning to tie the knot come less than a year after it was announced that he and Princess Tatiana were splitting. The private office of the Greek royal family revealed in April of 2024 that Tatiana and Nikolaos, who wed in 2010, were going their separate ways. “We wish to inform you of a significant and heartfelt decision made by TRH Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana. After fourteen years of marriage, they have chosen to amicably dissolve their union. This decision was reached with great care and mutual respect, reflecting the depth of their appreciation for one another and the moments they have shared,” the announcement read.
“Their future interactions will continue to be guided by these same principles of respect and understanding, as they transition into a relationship rooted in a strong friendship. They will continue to live and build their lives in Greece, a place they both call home. The Family will always support them,” it continued. “We warmly thank you for your understanding and for respecting their privacy during this time.”
In an interview with BHMAgazino that was published in October, Tatiana reflected on 2024, which saw her split from her husband and have a relative go missing. "2024 was indeed a difficult year for me, a transitional year, filled with moments of uncertainty and pain. But I believe that in adversity we often find our deepest strength. Life’s challenges remind me how important it is to endure, to hope, to have faith in the power of the human spirit," she told the outlet (translated to English). "I relied on my family, my friends and my wider environment for support and I drew immense strength from them. Furthermore, my involvement with mental health has been therapeutic for me, as it has allowed me to channel my energy into something positive, with a positive impact."
"It all happened at the same time, it was like an avalanche of change in public view," Tatiana added. "And at the same time, I was working on the implementation of the “Uniform of Hope” campaign, so I couldn’t withdraw from the public sphere even if I wanted to. The stories of hope and resilience that the athletes shared were a huge source of strength and inspiration for me personally at that time, and for that I feel grateful and I hope that our campaign can support and inspire others to overcome life’s difficulties, as it happened to me."
Tatiana shared that during that time she also "learned the importance of allowing yourself to feel, to grieve, to process your emotions, and to move forward with compassion for yourself." She admitted, "Through these challenges, I realized that while we cannot control what happens to us, we can choose how we react. I move forward with hope, knowing that even in the darkest moments there is always light and the opportunity to grow. My message to those facing adversity is to remember that we are never truly alone and that with patience and meaningful connection to those around us and ourselves, we can overcome even the most difficult situations.”
