Chef Adrian Lipscombe has come to Meghan Markle's defense. The founder of the 40 Acres & a Mule Project, who is said to be a friend of the Duchess of Sussex, defended the royal's upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. In a post on Instagram, Adrian wrote about meeting Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's mother, and revealed that the two of them have discussed their respective daughters being in their "princess phase."

"I’ve had the pleasure of meeting @meghan over food, and let me tell you, she and her well-known significant other are some of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met. We talked about our families (mostly about our daughters being in their princess phase and the movies they love) and, of course, about food. She didn’t rush the conversation, even though I was taking up her time. She was gracious, engaged, and kind," Adrian penned on Jan. 5.

The chef also noted, "And let’s talk about the bigger picture here—where are the Black female-led shows and roles in the food world? Representation is already so scarce, and now, a show that has the potential to spotlight food, culture, and storytelling is being torn apart before it even has a chance. This isn’t just about Meghan Markle. It’s about a systemic issue in media and entertainment that continues to dismiss or belittle efforts by women, especially women of color, to create something meaningful."

Adrian shared a photo of herself with Meghan last March from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to La Barbecue in Austin, Texas. "Today I was honored to have a small conversation with @sussexroyal about our children and their love for certain things ❤️," Adrian wrote at the time. "I cannot tell you how amazing and down to EarthThe Duchess and Duke are.Thank you to the Duchess for taking the time to come speak, and what wonderful moment on International Women’s Day.Another amazing moment happening at @sxsw."

With love, Meghan | Official trailer | Netflix

Meghan is celebrating the joys of cooking, along with gardening, entertaining and friendship in her new Netflix series, which premieres Jan. 15. According to the streamer, "This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old. Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same."

Meghan debuted the trailer for her show on Jan. 2, writing on her personal Instagram: "I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support - and fun! As ever, Meghan."
