Before ringing in 2025, Queen Rania of Jordan released a message for the New Year. "As we usher in the New Year, we pray for peaceful, more compassionate days ahead," Her Majesty wrote alongside a photo of her family on Dec. 30.

The picture of the Jordanian royals was taken back in June at a national event marking King Abdullah II’s Silver Jubilee. The photo shows the King and Queen in the center surrounded by their four children, Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem, as well as their daughter-in-law Princess Rajwa and their son-in-law Jameel Thermiotis.

Queen Rania also posted a video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from when the family portrait was taken. "‏Wishing you all a blessed and peaceful year ahead," she captioned the post.

Aside from the King's Silver Jubilee, this past year was a special one for the royal family because it saw the arrival of a new member. Queen Rania and King Abdullah became first-time grandparents in August. Their Majesties' eldest child Crown Prince Hussein and his wife Princess Rajwa welcomed their first child, daughter Princess Iman, on Aug. 3

Following the birth of his first grandchild, King Abdullah II wrote on his X account (translated to English): "Praise be to God who gave us our first granddaughter, Iman bint Al-Hussein. I congratulate Al-Hussein and Rajwa Al-Azizan on their newborn baby. We ask God to give her good growth and protect her for her parents. You enlightened our family, grandfather."

Meanwhile, Rania wrote on her X account (translated to English): "Praise be to God for His greatest gifts... You have enlightened our lives with our precious granddaughter, Iman. May God protect us from you. Congratulations to Hussein and Rajwa, and may God fill your lives with blessings and contentment."

The proud new grandmother also took to her Instagram the day Princess Iman was born to share photos of the royal baby. "Iman, you’ve already got a hold of my heart," Queen Rania wrote alongside the pictures. "Our family has never been happier! ♥️."
