A holiday greeting accompanied the new picture

Prince Sverre Magnus is noticeably absent from the Norwegian royal family's newly released Christmas photo. On Dec. 22, the Norwegian Royal House shared a photo of King Harald and Queen Sonja with their son Crown Prince Haakon, his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and their 20-year-old daughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra. Missing from the photo is the Crown Prince Couple's 19-year-old son.

"An important person is missing here and it is our great prince Sverre Magnus❤️," one individual commented on the post (translated to English).

It's unclear why the Prince was not included, but it's possible that the picture was just a photo of the members of the Royal House of Norway. On the Royal House's website, Prince Sverre Magnus, as well as Princess Märtha Louise and Princess Astrid are listed under "other royals." The site notes "the members of the Norwegian Royal House are Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja and Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Ingrid Alexandra," while the "other royals" also hold royal titles.

Prince Sverre Magnus is third in line to the throne after his father and sister. Back in September, Mette-Marit confirmed that her younger son had moved to Trondheim, where he would be until Christmas. "He will be working. But we don't want to go into any more detail about where he will be working and what he will be doing, but we can confirm that he has moved here and is very happy about it," the Crown Princess said at the time (translated to English), via NRK.

The new photo of the King, Queen and members of their family was taken in the Red Salon at the Palace in Oslo. The Christmas picture was accompanied by a greeting that read: "Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja, and Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Ingrid Alexandra wish everyone a very happy Christmas." The Royal House also shared that Christmas this year will be celebrated at Kongsseteren at Voksenkollen outside Oslo.
