Princesses wear festive dresses to a Christmas concert at the palace

The sisters were dressed in velvet and metallic for the holiday event

Princess Elisabeth and Princess Eléonore of Belgium joined their parents, Queen Mathilde and King Philippe, at a Christmas concert held at the Royal Palace of Brussels this week. The sisters looked holiday-ready, with Elisabeth, 23, wearing a velvet burgundy number, while her younger sister, 16, stepped out in a champagne-colored gown, said to be from Ralph Lauren (via UFO No More).

The Queen was also dressed in festive fashion, donning a red dress to the concert on Dec. 18. The Belgian Royal Palace shared photos from the event on Instagram, writing (translated to English): "🎄✨ More than 500 people enjoy the Christmas concert at the Royal Palace together with the King, Queen, Princess Elisabeth and Princess Eléonore. The King and Queen invited them tonight to thank them for their support for the royal activities in 2023 and 2024."

Per the palace, the event's program featured the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the MuCH Ensemble, the Children's Choir of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, the Master of the Royal Opera of Wallonie-Liège, soprano Fleur Strijbos, baritone Oleg Volkov from the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, and singer Mentissa, as well as compositions by Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Gruber and Britten, under the direction of conductor Vahan Mardirossian.

Missing from the concert on Wednesday were the King and Queen's sons, Prince Gabriel and Prince Emmanuel. All four of Their Majesties' children appeared in the royal family's 2024 Christmas card, which was released on Dec. 11. The Princes and Princesses were photographed standing behind their parents in the photo. "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year," a message inside of the card reads.

Elisabeth is the eldest of the royal couple's children and is first in line to the throne. The future Queen of Belgium currently studies in the United States. Elisabeth, who graduated with her bachelor's degree in history and politics from Lincoln College, University of Oxford this past July, is now studying at Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a master’s degree in public policy.
