Memorable royal moments of 2022

On Feb. 6, Queen Elizabeth became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.

William and Catherine brought Princess Charlotte with them to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in August. The outing marked Charlotte’s first solo outing with her parents.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte visited Wales with their mom and dad on June 4.

Her Majesty pulled a marmalade sandwich out of her handbag in a sketch with Paddington Bear for ‘Platinum Party at the Palace.’

Prince Louis made his royal Christmas walk debut in Sandringham this year. The four year old walked to St Mary Magdalene Church for Christmas Day service with members of the royal family.

Charles was formally proclaimed King Charles III at the Accession Council on Sept. 10. It was also William’s first appearance since becoming the Prince of Wales.

George, Charlotte and Louis started at a new school, Lambrook School, in September.

Queen Elizabeth’s eight grandchildren paid tribute to Her Majesty ahead of her funeral in September.

The Prince of Wales, Prince Harry, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn held a vigil beside their grandmother’s coffin at Westminster Hall on Sept. 17.

Netflix released Meghan and Harry’s documentary series in December.

Princess Charlotte wore a hat for the first time to her late great-grandmother’s funeral on Sept. 19.

Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral was held on Sept. 19. The monarch was buried at the King George VI Memorial Chapel.

Charles delivered his first Christmas broadcast as monarch on Dec. 25. The speech was recorded at St. George’s Chapel, close to where both of his parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, are buried.

George and Charlotte joined members of the royal family at their mother’s second annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Dec. 15.
