Who is Queen Rania’s daughter-in-law? Get to know Princess Rajwa

She became a mom in 2024!

 Rajwa Alseif married Queen Rania and King Abdullah II’s eldest child, Crown Prince Hussein, on June 1, 2023. The couple, who got engaged in August of 2022, tied the knot in an Islamic marriage ceremony attended by around 140 guests, including the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Following the royal wedding, the Royal Hashemite Court announced that a royal decree had been issued, bestowing the title of “Her Royal Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein on Miss Rajwa Khalid Alseif, on the occasion of her marriage to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein.”

Speaking to Al Arabiya ahead of their first wedding anniversary in 2024, Hussein admitted that his life had “changed for the better” after marriage. “It’s a great blessing that I found my life partner,” the Crown Prince said. “Marriage has helped me become more relaxed. Rajwa is calm, easy-going and funny.”

Rajwa was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on April 28, 1994.

She is the daughter of Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif and Azza bint Nayef Abdulaziz Ahmad Al Sudairi. Rajwa’s father founded El Seif Engineering Contracting, which is one of the leading construction companies in Saudi Arabia, per the Royal Hashemite Court.

Princess Rajwa is the youngest of her siblings. She has two older brothers, Faisal and Nayef, and one older sister, Dana.

After completing her secondary education in Riyadh, Rajwa pursued a B.A. in architecture from Syracuse University’s School of Architecture in New York.

Rajwa holds a “professional designation degree in Visual Communications” from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

She has worked at an architecture firm in Los Angeles.

According to the Royal Hashemite Court, the “Al Saif family is a descendant of the Subai tribe, who have been the sheikhs of Attar in Sudair, Najd, since the beginning of King Abdulaziz Al Saud’s reign.”

She is fluent in English and French, in addition to her native Arabic.

Horseback riding, drawing, handmade arts and creating digital architectural designs are among the Princess‘ hobbies.

Princess Rajwa became a mom in 2024

Two months after her first wedding anniversary, Princess Rajwa became a mother. She and Crown Prince Hussein welcomed their first child, daughter Iman, on Aug. 3, 2024. In a post on Instagram after the royal baby's birth, Hussein wrote: "We are immensely grateful for the safe birth of our daughter and the health of my beloved wife, Rajwa. Our heartfelt thanks to our family and the Jordanian people for their kind wishes, which deeply touched us during these special moments."
