Rybakina is 23 years old and won the match in three sets. She was born in Russia but has played for Kazakhstan since 2018. She is the youngest women’s finalist in Wimbledon since 2015, when Garbine Muguruza played at 21 years of age.
Ons Jabeur
Rybakina played against Ons Jabeur, who was also celebrating a few firsts. Jabeur is the first African tennis player to play in a Grand Slam final in the Open Era of tennis. The 27-year-old player had a 12-win streak and is ranked the 3rd in the world.
