They are used to gracing the covers of magazines, their beauty and health tips are followed religiously and when they don a tiara, it’s a Stop The Press moment! But these beauty queens also have their chill days, whether it’s out exercising with the kids or just taking a break from formal duties – and they look just as gorgeous without makeup on.

From  Meghan Markle  and  Kate Middleton ’s pre-princess days to  Queen Letizia ’s vacay look, check out our gallery of royal ladies who let their natural beauty shine through!

The Duchess of Sussex is proud of her freckles and likes to show off her natural glow whenever possible. Nowadays she tends to be more polished but always errs towards a more natural look. She told Allure in a 2017 interview: “For all my freckle-faced friends out there, I will share with you something my Dad told me when I was younger. ‘A face without freckles is a night without stars.’”

We’re used to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge primed to perfection but before she married into the British royal family she sported a more fresh-faced look.

There’s no doubting that she has fabulous skin and this is apparently thanks to her use of rosehip oil. A royal source told US Weekly that: "Kate continues to use rosehip oil in her daily skin care regimen. She loves the effect is has on her skin. [Her mother] Carole [Middleton] is also a fan."

Getting married in May 2020, this bride-to-be will already have her make-up plan in place, but it’s bound to be a natural look, letting her perfect skin shine through on her big day.

According to Redbook, she has been known to use Dr. Organic Snail Gel to keep her complexion in tip-top condition.

From her days as working as a TV news reporter, Letizia has known the importance of a good foundation and makeup look. However on her days off in Mallorca, the Queen usually lets her natural beauty shine through. The mom-of-two always looks stylish and cute, with or without makep!

Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter is down-to-earth and is just as happy hanging out with her horses as she is glammed-up for a royal wedding. Princess Anne’s daughter is an active mom-of-two who competed in equestrian events at the London Olympics in 2012, whose fresh faced look is often spotted while out and about with her daughters Mia and Lena.

Bobbi Brown makeup artist Hannah Martin has spoken in the past about Prince William’s cousin, saying: "Zara is very natural and paired down with her makeup, she has stunning features, beautiful skin, lovely big eyes and great cheekbones.” So when she does don some mascara and lippy, it all tends to be very natural-looking.

Sweden’s future Queen looks gorgeous in a tiara but is equally as lovely makeup free and in casualwear as she hikes around her beloved country. The mom-of-two loves to keep active, having met her husband Prince Daniel at a gym, and is often spotted out and about in nature.

And her modern, Scandi, take on fashion means she always looks on point!

Prince Edward’s wife has had a style makeover in recent years, becoming quite the fashion icon. However she still keeps in real and isn’t afraid of a sporting challenge – where makeup requirements are minimal. Here she is seen after cycling 445 miles over 7 days for her Duke of Edinburgh diamond challenge.

As Rosalind Chapman, of Transformulas has pointed out: “She lives out in the country which means there is less exposure to the damage caused by pollution and free radicals.”

Denmark’s Australian-born future Queen is a fan of the natural life who loves walking, jogging or riding a horse. Her radiant skin is often spotted without makeup as she takes part in activities with her four children: Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine.

Ole Henriksen, the Danish-born skin expert, has revealed in the past that she uses his eponymous skincare brand to help maintain her radiant looks.

Princess Diana’s niece isn’t officially a royal, but she is an aristocrat and model who looks just as stunning bare faced as she does with lipstick and mascara. Set to wed fashion tycoon fiancé Michael Lewis at some point soon, she is bound to be a beautiful bride.

Like Meghan Markle, Kitty is a fan of letting her freckles shine through, and they’ve even been spotted taking prominence in her glamorous Bulgari modelling shots.
