A royal goodbye! Princess Leonor of Spain’s family saw her off at the airport prior to her big move to the UK. Queen Letizia , King Felipe and Infanta Sofia accompanied the 15-year-old royal to Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport to say goodbye to the Princess, who is a new student at the UWC Atlantic College located in Wales. The Spanish monarchs and their youngest daughter, Sofia, dropped Princess Leonor off at the airport. It’s unclear when the family said their goodbyes, but according to the UWC Atlantic College’s website, the start of the term for first year students began on Aug. 30.
Doting mom Queen Letizia gave her daughter Princess Leonor a hand with her backpack.
Letizia was like any other mom giving her daughter a big hug before her departure. The Queen’s firstborn will be residing in one of the school’s boarding houses on campus.
King Felipe was photographed sharing a moment with his daughter, who is first in line to the Spanish throne.
Sisterly love! Infanta Sofia embraced her big sister. Leonor previously attended Santa Maria de los Rosales school in Madrid with her younger sibling.
King Felipe was pictured hugging his youngest daughter, who appeared sad to see her sister leave.
After bidding farewell to her parents and sister, Princess Leonor, pulling her suitcase, set off to begin an exciting new chapter in the UK.
Queen Letizia’s daughter won’t be the only Princess on campus. Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander’s daughter Princess Alexia of the Netherlands is also attending the school in Wales.
