Few things were more discussed and awaited than Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding in 2018. Her wedding dress, designed by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy, was momentous in its impact. According to a new study, it’s the most popular wedding dress of the decade.
The research, conducted by Find Me A Gift, analyzed the internet search volume for celebrity bridal gowns and compiled some of the most searched wedding gowns of all time. Unsurprisingly, the gowns wore at royal weddings were very researched and admired by followers, with Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton occupying the top two spots.
Check out some of the weddings gowns that made the ranking:
Meghan Markle
According to the dress’ designer, Meghan’s dress was meant to be a ‘timeless piece that would emphasize the iconic codes of Givenchy throughout its history, as well as convey modernity through sleek lines and sharp cuts,” she said to Tatler.
Kate Middleton
Kate Middleton’s beautiful gown was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, and had a beautiful lace design over a sweetheart bodice and skirt.
Hailey Baldwin Bieber
Hailey Baldwin Bieber has the third most popular dress. Designed by Virgil Abloh for Off-White, Hailey was extremely happy with the result. “thank you for making my vision come to life and creating my dream dress. You and your @off____white team are incredible and I’m forever grateful I got to wear your beautiful creation,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s surprise and low-key wedding to Dalton Gomez was also another event that had the world very excited. She wore Vera Wang Haute Couture and looked beautiful and happy in her traditional dress.
Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding married Caspar Jotling, an art dealer, in 2019. She wore a custom-made Chloé gown and then changed into a more relaxed dress designed by Carolina Herrera for the wedding reception at Castle Howard.
