The royal couple’s visit was supposed to take place last year, but was postponed due to COVID-19

Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands paid a state visit to Germany this week at the invitation of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The Dutch royal couple’s visit to the neighboring country was originally scheduled for last year, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the measures taken by both countries to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, it is not possible to properly prepare for the state visit at the moment,” the Dutch Royal House said in 2020 amid the health crisis.

Over a year later, the couple traveled to Germany this week for their visit, which took place “in an adapted form.” Queen Maxima whipped out her statement hats, glamorous gowns and a dazzling tiara for the trip. Scroll to see the royal’s stylish looks from the state visit...

Queen Maxima kicked off her state visit to Germany on July 5 wearing a dress by one of her go-to designers, Natan.

The mom of three dazzled later in the day wearing the Stuart Tiara with her Jan Taminiau one-shoulder gown to a state banquet.

Day 2

Royal watchers might recognize Queen Maxima’s look from day 2 of her visit to Germany. The Dutch royal stepped out wearing the dress (said to be by Natan) and statement hat that she wore to the Royal Ascot in 2019.

King Willem-Alexander’s wife stunned at a concert in Berlin on July 6 wearing a blue strapless lace gown by Valentino, according to the UFO No More blog.

The Dutch Queen opted for another design by Natan for the final day of her and King Willem-Alexander’s state visit.
