Prior to their royal wedding a decade ago, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge expressed their desire to one day have a “happy family.” During their 2010 engagement interview, Kate Middleton said, “I hope we’ll be able to have a happy family ourselves.”

When asked if they wanted a lot of children, Prince William answered, “I think we’ll take it one step at a time. We’ll sort of get over the marriage thing first and then maybe look at the kids. But obviously we want a family, so we’ll have to start thinking about that.”
William and Kate became parents in 2013 with the birth of their son Prince George. The new mom and dad proudly introduced their firstborn outside of the Lindo Wing.
The Duke and Duchess welcomed their youngest child, son Prince Louis, in 2018. As with their older children, the couple happily posed outside of the Lindo Wing with their royal baby.
The royal family of five looked picture perfect in their 2020 Christmas card, which was taken at their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. Photographer Matt Porteous wrote on Instagram that “it was an honour to photograph The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family. Capturing the fun and relaxed moments between such a wonderful family is always a true privilege.”
The royal couple and their kids looked like any other family getting balloons at a children’s party for military families during the Cambridges’ royal tour of Canada in 2016.
In 2019, proud mom Kate and proud dad William accompanied their daughter Princess Charlotte to her first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea, where Prince George is also a student.
The Duke and Duchess held their children’s hands as George, Charlotte and Louis walked their very first red carpet. The family attended a special pantomime performance of The National Lottery’s Pantoland at The Palladium in 2020.
