The Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest with a traditional tribute on Saturday April 17, just a week after his passing. Queen Elizabeth and her royal family paid final respects to Prince Philip during his funeral at St George’s Chapel in Windsor. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic only thirty guests were in attendance at the ceremony, including the prince’s beloved children and grandchildren like Princes William and Harry. Fortunately, the restrictions didn’t affect Philip’s approved funeral plans too drastically.

One of the most trending moments from the ceremony was seeing Prince Harry reunite with his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Kate Middleton. The trio gathered outside St George’s after the public ceremony.
The Duke’s coffin was draped with his flag and topped with his personal sword and naval cap. A wreath of flowers provided a lovely finish to the adornments.
Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Princess Anne, Princess Royal, led the ceremonial funeral procession of Prince Philip, walking in line behind his coffin.
While it was a tragic occasion, onlookers couldn’t help but relish in the sight of brothers Prince William and Harry reunited. The duo joined Andrew, Duke of York, Earl of Snowdon David Armstrong-Jones, Peter Phillips, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, and Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in the funeral procession.

Members of the armed forces marched into position at Windsor Castle ahead of the funeral. Over 730 members of the armed forces took part in the funeral proceeding.
