At the time, the Royal Court also revealed that King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia,  Crown Princess Victoria  and  Prince Daniel  would be tested because they had recently attended a private funeral with Sofia and Carl Philip. The monarchs and Crown Princess Couple have since tested negative and “remain healthy.”

Last month, Princess Sofia won the Corona Hero of the Year award—which is awarded to an individual who has contributed to making society a little better by educating and counteracting the spread of the novel coronavirus during the pandemic— at the virtual Consid Awards. The Swedish royal began volunteering at Sophiahemmet Hospital in April after undergoing intensive training to help relieve the nursing staff during the pandemic. Sofia reflected on her volunteer experience this summer, calling it “absolutely outstanding.”
