While the world is asked to remain at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic, royals around the world are also working from home. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton , as well as Queen Elizabeth , are continuing royal duties from the comfort of their palaces. King Felipe of Spain and his wife, Queen Letizia , have also been listening to health officials guidelines by continuing their royal duties from home.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge living room at Kensington Palace
In April 2016, Prince William and Kate hosted former U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, giving royal fans a glimpse into their living room in Kensington Palace. Despite the room’s spacious interior, it carries a cozy atmosphere with plush cream-colored sofas and wooden dressers adorned with framed family photos and lamps.
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s living room at Skaugum
Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway hosted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their Oslo residence in 2018 showcasing they too have a liking for cream-colored sofas. The room also has bookshelves lining the walls, a marble mantelpiece surrounding the fireplace, antique-looking clocks and a glass chandelier.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia’s sitting room at the Prince’s Pavilion
In honor of Queen Letizia’s 40th birthday in 2012, the Spanish royals released family photos that offered a glimpse inside their residence, the Prince’s Pavilion on the outskirts of Madrid. The neutral-colored room is decorated with a textured sofa, metallic curtains, and a patterned rug.

Our sister publication, HELLO!, had an exclusive inside look of Prince Marie Chantal of Greece’s drawing room. The room is located on the second floor and it serves as their main entertaining space. The room is filled with plenty of natural lighting thanks to large windows and is decorated with “easy neutrals.” Moreover, the room has a geometric black and grey carpet, bespoke curved sofas in a bouclé linen and artsy cocktail tables by French designer-artists Eric Schmitt and Guy de Rougemont.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s living room at Haga Palace
In 2018 Prince William and Kate paid a visit to the Swedish royals, allowing a look into their residence at Haga Palace. Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel also have a preference for neutrals with a grey and white color palette. Their room is adorned with cream-colored sofas with grey velvet cushions and a grey marble coffee table. The room contains a hint of color with orange-toned curtains.

The Danish royals have one of our favorite living rooms with pastel-colored walls and chic coral accents, including a cushioned coffee table and decorative lamp. They too are fans of ivory sofas and large windows. A large chandelier completes the room’s elegant decor.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima’s Blue Salon at Huis Ten Bosch
Netherlands royals, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, and their daughters recently moved into Huis Ten Bosch in 2019. One of the coziest rooms in the palace is the blue salon, which is decorated with a calming blue color scheme across the walls, sofas and accessories. There is a large collage by Maurice Scheltens and Liesbeth Abbenes, representing key elements in the life of the family such as King Willem's cape on the day of his coronation.

The Queen’s saloon at Sandringham House has ornate wooden columns, a piano and large sofas for the Queen and her family to sit and relax.
The White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace
A large chandelier is the centerpiece of the Queen’s White Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace. The room includes plenty of golden features within the drapes and furniture, and is adorned with a red printed carpet.
