When it comes to holiday style the Queen of Fashion, Anna Wintour, believes “you can’t go wrong with the Duchess of Cambridge.” In Vogue’s latest Go Ask Anna video—published on November 27—one woman asked the editor-in-chief which celebrity she should look to for holiday style inspiration this season, to which she answered Kate Middleton . Anna noted that the royal mom of three “always looks impeccable.” She explained, “I think right now when we're thinking very much about stars that are a little bit more classic and have a heritage feeling, when you look at what [Kate] wears when she goes to church, could be a Catherine Walker, dark red princess coat, or when she has to go out at night with her husband something a little bit more glamorous like a McQueen, but she always looks absolutely impeccable.”
Since Anna believes Kate is the star to emulate this season, we’re taking a look at the Duchess of Cambridge’s best holiday looks throughout the years.
First Christmas
For her first Christmas as a member of the British royal family in 2011, Kate opted for a berry coat and a hat in the same shade by Jane Corbett.
Fun accesory
The Duchess recycled her gorgeous green tartan Alexander McQueen coatdress for Christmas Day service at Sandringham in 2013. Kate coordinated the piece with a hat by milliner Gina Foster.
Monochromatic look
Kate was radiant in red for Christmas with the royals in 2018. The Duchess stunned in a Catherine Walker coatdress that featured a full skirt and velvet trim on the collar, cuffs and pockets. Prince William's wife completed her ensemble with a matching Jane Taylor halo band.
Family outing
While there's no denying Kate's best (and cutest) accessory was Princess Charlotte, we loved her faux fur collar that she wore with her brown Hobbs "Celeste" coat for Christmas with the Middletons in Bucklebury back in 2016.
Classic yet chic
Prince George's mom exuded sophistication in a Moloh "Turpin" Tweed coat and Lock & Co. "Betty Boop" hat for Christmas service in 2014.
Rainy-day fashion
The Duchess looked gorgeous in green donning a Sportsmax coat and hat by Lock & Co to celebrate Christmas at Sandringham in 2015.
Festive look
The Duchess looked festive on Christmas Day in 2017 wearing a tartan Miu Miu velvet-trimmed double-breasted peacoat. The always stylish royal kept extra warm with a Vallnord Alpaca fur hat by Peruvian Connection.
Head-turning print
While Kate didn't wear this holiday-ready outfit on Christmas Day, she did for a Christmas party for families of military personnel. The Duchess stepped out to the Kensington Palace party in 2018 wearing a skirt by Emilia Wickstead and a top by Brora.
Crimson glam
Another non-Christmas outfit that deserves honorable mention is a red Alexander McQueen dress that Kate wore to the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families' Christmas party in 2015.
