The Spain-U.S. Chamber's Women-ON 2024 event highlighted advocacy for inclusivity and women’s leadership

The event, hosted at the Greenberg Traurig, LLP offices in Brickell, gathered top voices in business and law to discuss diversity, inclusion, and breaking barriers

On September 12, 2024, the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted its Women-ON 2024 event, “Championing Equality: Insights from Diverse Voices in Business and Law,” at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office. The event brought together business and legal leaders to share insights for advancing diversity and inclusion while addressing women’s challenges in traditionally male-dominated industries.

The event’s first panel, Corporate Diversity: Integrating Policies for an Inclusive Workplace, was moderated by Yosbel Ibarra, co-managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig Miami. It discussed actionable diversity strategies. Panellists Brissa Quiroz, Mariana Seixas, Brenda Henderson and Nagidmy Marquez Acosta shared real-world experiences, providing insights into how companies drive diversity efforts and how they can become advocates in these environments.

Reflecting on the event, Mónica Vásquez - President of the Chamber of Commerce said, "We want to be part of that movement that seeks to support the pursuit of equality. I believe the increasing inclusion of women in all companies is driving a significant change in the development of products and services, which are becoming more equitable for consumers as well."

The second panel, moderated by Dr. Maria Ilcheva, Women in Law: Breaking Barriers in the Legal World, featured leading voices from the legal field, including Carol Barnhart, Marcia Narine Weldon, Ines Bahachille and Juan Enjamio. The panelists discussed the importance of legislation and leadership in breaking down barriers for women in law, emphasizing the need for continued advocacy.

The event concluded with a networking session, offering participants the opportunity to connect and collaborate. Organizers, including Juan Carlos Pereira, Executive Director  and Mónica Vázquez , President and General Manager at Spain-US Chamber of Commerce, were praised for creating a platform that empowered Hispanic women to lead change in their industries.
