Valentine’s Day: Activities parents can do with their kids

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. February 14th is a date meant to celebrate love in all of its forms, even though romance takes center stage for most people. While it’s amazing to celebrate with your significant other with some dinner or flowers, it’s also a date that can be used to bond with your kids and your family. A butterfly

You and kids can make a heart butterfly. You only need red cardboard, fabric, googly eyes, glue, scissors and a pencil. To make it, draw two shapes of a heart on the cardboard and cut it. Fold them in the shape of wings and put them apart. Grab a ball of yarn and glue some googly eyes on it, and pair it with the wings.

A card

You can also try to make a card with a heart-shaped motif. For this design, grab a blue piece of cardboard, different color papers, scissors, glue and some markers. To put it together, draw a heart and use it as a mold to cut the necessary heart shapes. Grab each of the hearts and fold them, pasting them on the cardboard to make the shape of the balloons.

A heart keychain

To make a heart keychain, you’ll need some red and white fabric, a small rock in the shape of a heart, a chain, glue and scissors. To make it, draw the heart in the red fabric and cut it out. Repeat this with the white fabric and make the heart smaller, that way it can fit inside the other piece. Paste the red gem inside and tie it all with a chain.

A card that allows them to express themselves

For this card, you’ll need cardboard in red pink and white, and some white paint. Use the red carboard as your base and cut different squares of pink and white. Paste them on the corners of your base until a frame is created. Paint your hands with white paint and press them on the middle of the cardboard.

A heart made out of fabric

In order to make this heart, you’ll need some red fabric, cotton, and some needle and thread. Cut two pieces of fabric in the shape of a heart and put them on top of each other. Sew the edges with a needle and thread, leaving an opening where you can introduce some cotton. Close the heart.

A heart wreath

To make a heart wreath, you’ll need red glittery paper, a pencil, scissors, glue and some cellophane. To make it, draw the heart shapes and cut them. Paste them over a long strip of cellophane with glue and you’re all set.

An adorable bear

Bears are adorable and thus perfect for Valentine’s Day. To make this one, you’ll need some different color cardboard, including white, red, pink, yellow, and purple, some pencils, scissors, glue and a marker. To make it, draw the necessary shapes, including that of a bear, some circles, some hearts and a vest. Paste all of the details according to the reference image, and write a sweet message on the heart.

A big heart

To make this big heart, you’ll need red cardboard, a pencil, some scissors, glue and a lot of buttons of different colors. To make it, draw the heart and cut it, pasting it over some red cardboard. Cover the heart with glue and add in the buttons, ensuring they stick.

Heart shaped pieces of paper

Lastly, you can try to make heart shaped pieces of paper. You’ll need different colored paper, glue and some scissors. To make, grab the paper and cut it in strips. Paste two of them so they make the shape of a tear. Grab two other pieces and roll them up, placing them inside the tear. Paste two tears together and you’re all set.
