From weddings to new projects, each new year sees exciting news for some our favorite celebrities and royals but we have to say that our favorites are when the stars welcome a new baby to the world. In 2020, we’ve seen Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova introduce their third child, Mary, got a surprise announcement from Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden to kick off the year, and also received happy news from new moms Ashley Graham and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Lea Michele is officially gleeful a mom. The former Glee star, 33, and her husband Zandy Reich welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on August 20 according to PEOPLE.
Karla Souza and Marshall Trenkmann
Karla and her husband have welcomed a baby boy! The Mexican-American actress shared a beautiful photo of her and their son Luka from a feature with People.
“Thank you @people for helping me share our joy with the world. There’s so much heaviness and injustice in the world and as a mother it makes me wonder what world my children are growing up into. Looking into Luka’s eyes and watching Gianna as a big sister brings me so much hope and commitment to being a part of the change. Welcome to the world Luka,” she wrote.
Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail
Michelle Williams is a mother again and welcomes her second child and first with her husband Thomas Kail. The couple met while working together on the set for the drama series Fosse/Verdon and secretly married in March. Michelle welcomed her first child, Matilda Ledger with late actor Heath Ledger three years before his death. In 2018, the 39-year-old actress secretly wed Phil Evelrum but they filed for divorce in April 2019.
Thomas was previously married to actress Angela Christian in 2006. According to US Weekly, Michelle and Thomas “fell hard and fast for each other.” The sex and the date of birth of the newborn have not been confirmed yet.
Matt Bellamy and Elle Evans
Muse’s singer Matt Bellamy and his wife Elle Evans welcomed their daughter on June 7th in Los Angeles. Lovella Dawn Bellamy is the couple’s first child “weighing 9 pounds and measuring 23 inches 🎀”. The couple announced the birth of their child with a heartwarming message and pictures on their social media, “Mom @elloelle did an amazing job! 💕🤱💕.” Matt and Elle got engaged in December 2017 and shared pictures of their wedding in August 2019. Matt was previously engaged to Kate Hudson before splitting in 2014. Both have remained amicably and co-parent their son Bingham, 8.
Kristen Wiig and Avi Rothman
The Bridesmaids actress and her fiancé Avi Rothman welcomed twins via surrogate according to People’s source. During a Saturday Night Live Mother’s Day special episode, Kristen hinted to her mom Laurie Johnston that she was about to become a mother and thanking her for, “preparing me to be a mom myself.” During the show Kristen expressed, “I don’t know if I truly appreciated my mom the first 45 years of my life. But this year I’m feeling especially grateful for her advice, her love. I’m so thankful for all the things she’s taught me.” Kristen Wiig and Avi were first seen together in 2016 and dated secretly for months. The couple got engaged in August 2019. Kristen and Avi were spotted in their Los Angeles neighborhood wearing baby carriers and taking a stroll with their twins.
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert
The 29-year-old singer and her husband, Iman, are expecting their second child together! Teyana revealed the joyful news in the best way: the music video for her new song, Wake Up Love.
The big reveal comes towards the end of the clip when their four-year-old, Iman Tayla, joins the singer and her hubby who are cuddling in bed, and she unveils her growing baby bump. Iman and the couple’s little girl both embrace Teyana’s belly happy at the fact that they will soon become a family-of-four. So cute!
Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti
A fancy surprise! Iggy, 30, and her boyfriend, fellow rapper Playboi Carti have welcomed their first child. The Black Widow rapper took to her Instagram stories to make the personal announcement. “I have a son,” she wrote. “I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feel like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world.”
The Australian rapper, born Amethyst Kelly, didn’t share a picture of her baby boy along with the post, but did give a reason why. “I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.” Iggy has not shared her child’s name or exact date of birth with the world.
Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett - May 19
Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett have welcomed a baby girl according to Jamaica’s prime minister, Andrew Holness. “Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt (@usainbolt) and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl!” he wrote on social media.
The couple first announced the exciting news via Instagram back in January with a breathtaking photo of Kasi showing off her baby bump in a stunning red gown. “I just want to say a KING or QUEEN is about to be HERE,” wrote the Jamaican athlete next to the picture. Looks like it’s a QUEEN!

Alex Morgan and husband Servando Carrasco’s baby girl - May 7
The U.S. soccer star and her fellow pro-athlete husband welcomed their baby girl Charlie Elena Carrasco three days before Mother’s Day on May 7. The new mom shared a sweet picture of her baby girl and next to it she wrote, “Charlie Elena Carrasco made her grand entrance into the world. She made us wait longer than expected, but I should have known she would do it her way and her way only. My super moon baby.” Congrats to the new parents!
America Ferrera and husband Ryan Piers Williams’ baby - May 4
The Superstore star and the 1985 actor welcomed their second child on May 4 and revealed the news on Mother’s Day, May 10. Next to a precious photo of the family holding the newborn baby’s fingers, America wrote, “LUCIA MARISOL WILLIAMS arrived on May 4th to give me my Mother’s Day hugs and kisses herself. Mama, Dada & Big Brother are over the moon to welcome her bright light to our family.” Congrats to the family of four!
Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg - May 10
Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie of Luxembourg are officially first time parents! The palace announced the happy news on Twitter along with this photo, writing:
“The Hereditary couple is delighted to announce the birth of their son this Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 5:13 a.m. at the Maternity Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg. The baby will bear the first names of Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume. The child weighs 3.190 kg and is 50 cm tall.”
Rupert Grint and girlfriend Georgia Groome’s baby - May 6
The Harry Potter alum and his longtime girlfriend first announced they were expecting a child in April 2020. Rupert and the English actress are rumored to have begun their long love affair in 2011. A rep for the happy couple released a statement saying, “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl.”
In an interview with The Guardian in 2018, the actor reveavled that he was looking to hopefully settle down soon after having turned 30. He also joked about whether he’d name one of his future son’s Ron after the beloved character he portrayed in the Harry Potter movies.
Elon Musk and Grimes’ baby - May 4
Tesla and Space X founder Elon Musk is now a dad of six after welcoming a new member to the family with singer Grimes. The 48-year-old announced that ‘mom and baby are all good’ after the birth. While he didn’t specify the gender of the newborn, he responded to a follower’s tweet with, ‘Boy’. Elon also said the baby’s name is X Æ A-12, which instantly had followers guessing how to pronounce it. The mogul later liked a tweet by follower @flcnhvy which deciphered the symbols as: X Ash Archangel.
This is the first child for Grimes, who started dating the billionaire in May 2018, while Elon has five children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson.
Chloe Sevigny and Sinisa Mackovic’s baby - May 2020
Actress Chloe Sevigny is a first-time mom! The Boys Don‘t Cry star welcomed a baby with her partner Sinisa Mackovic during the first week of May. While the couple didn’t make an official announcement, they were pictured leaving the hospital with their newborn on May 4.
The star is pictured here in December 2019 at the Goatham Awards in New York City. In a Q&A for Homme Girls, Chloe admitted that she and Sinisa hadn’t yet settled on one final detail right before the birth, revealing: “Our baby is due in eight days and we don’t have a name yet!”
Anderson Cooper’s baby boy Wyatt - April 27
The CNN reporter is officially a father. Anderson took to social media to share the “joyful” news that he welcomed his son Wyatt Morgan Cooper on April 27, via surrogate. Anderson shared the special meaning behind his name. “He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son‘s middle name is Morgan. It’s a family name on my mom’s side. I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy.”
The reporter went on to share that as a gay man he never thought he would have the chance to become a father. He also shared the sweet connection the baby has to his mother, father and older brother, who all passed. “I do wish my mom and dad and my brother, Carter, were alive to meet Wyatt, but I like to believe they can see him. I imagine them all together, arms around each other, smiling and laughing, happy to know that their love is alive in me and in Wyatt, and that our family continues.”

Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson’s baby girl - April 22
Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, four months after the Queen & Slim actress confirmed her pregnancy.
The Fringe actor had spoken to Good Morning America in March about how his wife was coping being pregnant during the coronavirus pandemic. “Physically she’s fine and the baby’s healthy,” he explained. ”Obviously, it’s a bit stressful right now and we’re just trying to figure out how to be smart about being quarantined.
Meanwhile, Jodie wrote about her pregnancy on social media, calling it a “fantastic voyage that begins in wonder and transformation,” adding: “I will never forget how this felt and now won’t soon forget how it looked.”
King Jigme and Queen Jetsun of Bhutan’s royal baby son - March 19
King Jigme of Bhutan and his wife, the world’s youngest queen, Queen Jetsun, welcomed Prince number two – the first royal baby birth of 2020! The official statement from the couple, who have been dubbed The William and Kate of the Himalayas, read: “We are honored to announce the birth of the second Royal Child of Their Majesties The King and Queen, a Prince, on the 19th of March 2020, corresponding with the 25th day of the 1st month of the Male Iron Rat year, in Lingkana Palace, Thimphu. Her Majesty and the royal baby are in good health, and His Royal Highness The Gyalsey was delighted to meet his younger brother.“
Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee’s baby boy Callum - March 6
Jenna Dewan and Broadway actor Steve Kazee were thrilled to announce the arrival of their first child together, Callum Michael Rebel Kazee. “And just like that, our hearts exploded into all of eternity and beyond. Welcome to the world you little angel!” Jenna wrote on social media. The actress is also mom to Everly, born in 2013, whose dad is fellow actor Channing Tatum.
Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova’s baby girl Mary - January 30
Enrique and Anna welcomed their baby girl, a little sister for twins Nicholas and Lucy (born in 2017) in January, but didn’t make the announcement until weeks later. Mary, who is nicknamed Masha, which is the moniker in Anna‘s native Russian, was quite an addition to the Kournikova-Iglesias home, which now has three kids under three plus two dogs. “My house is chaotic,” Enrique later joked to People. “When we first came home with Masha, I was like, ‘Oh, how is everybody going to react?’“
Ashley Graham and husband Justin Ervin’s baby boy Isaac - January 18
Ashley Graham became a first-time mom with the arrival of her baby boy with filmmaker Justin Ervin, Isaac Menelik Giovanni Ervin. The supermodel announced on social media that, “At 6:00PM on 01/18/2020, we welcomed 7lbs 5oz of love into our world. Meeting our son has made our hearts incredibly full.” The plus-size fashion icon shared that her little guy was born during an “all-natural home birth.”
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden’s baby girl Raddix - December 30, 2019
Technically little Raddix was a VERY late 2019 baby, but Cameron and Benji’s little girl was the first celebrity baby announced in 2020, when the pair confirmed her arrival on January 3. “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family,“ new mom Cameron wrote on social media, saying their baby girl is ”really really cute!! Some would even say RAD.”
