She became a symbol of Mexican telenovelas, paving her way to Hollywood

For Ana Brenda Contreras, the dream of becoming an actress started at a very young age, and it began to materialize when she was just 15 years old. At that time, the young aspiring actress made the courageous decision to say goodbye to her hometown of Matamoros and move to Mexico City, determined to secure her place in the world of television.

While her journey didn’t begin with acting, Ana Brenda knew how to seize the opportunities that came her way. The actress made her debut on one of the first reality shows on television: “Pop Stars,” thanks to which she secured a spot as a member of the music group, a project that gave her the exposure she needed to continue her professional path.

Over time, Ana Brenda’s face became a symbol of Mexican telenovelas, as she starred in notable productions like  ‘Barrera de Amor’ and  ‘Teresa.’ 

The telenovela in which she shared the spotlight with Angelique Boyer achieved high levels of viewership in 2010, paving the way for her debut as the lead in ‘La que no podía amar.’ She then moved to the world of streaming, gaining U.S. recognition with her role in the series “Dynasty.”

Performances in Television, film, and theater, including ‘Mentiras’ and ‘El Hombre de la Mancha,’ have showcased the versatile talent of the Mexican-American actress. She has stated on several occasions that she remains open to returning to telenovelas if presented with fresh, captivating, and original projects. Furthermore, she has demonstrated her hosting talent during the 2020 and 2021 editions of the Latin Grammy Awards.
