Patricia’s journalism and TV talents make her a notable figure in media

Patricia Janiot has had an incredible career in the entertainment industry. Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, the acclaimed journalist first captivated the hearts of many after being chosen as Señorita Colombia and representing her home country in 1984, quickly becoming one of the most fan-favorite faces, and setting the tone for a successful path.

With her charismatic personality and professionalism, Patricia went on to become a journalist and news anchor in Colombian television, after studying Social Communication at the University of La Sabana in Bogotá and earning a degree in English from Cambridge University.

It would be in 1990 when she would start to reach global audiences, after making her way to Univisión, and CNN International in 1992, as well as CNN Radio. She has been part of important situations in recent decades, covering the news of Princess Diana’s funeral, the conflicts in Iraq and Kosovo, President Bill Clinton’s historic visit to Colombia, and many more.

Patricia’s impeccable skills as a journalist and TV personality have made her a notable figure in media, being part of news coverage in countries all around the world, including the United States, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, and México, among others.

Her many achievements have been the reason for her Emmy win, and her Hispanic Media 100 recognition. She was also honored at the Spanish-language Television Industry Award (INTE) for ‘Best Female News Personality’ in 2022 and currently serves as the president of the non-profit organization Colombianitos, which helps children who have been affected by the war in Colombia.
