Angelica Jenett is using her passion for fashion and sports to inspire many women to make their dreams come true. Born in Lima, Perú, this talented designer came to the United States with her parents at the young age of 9.
Focused in exploring her artistic talents, Angélica pursued a career in art and design, becoming a designer and using her abilities to enter the athleisure market in the fashion industry.
After working and collaborating with big brands, including Free People, PacSun, Old Navy, Gap y Brooks, Angélica revealed that she is passionate about working with companies that align with her values, and have a deeper knowledge in the creative process, as it will ultimately have a better impact on their products.
Angélica has used her skills to design unique sports bras for Brooks, highlighting that the most important thing is to “test on all different kinds of bodies, on runners, and in the lab,” admitting that “the right level of support” is different for everyone, and how fascinating it is to see what the movement is like in the garment.
The designer shared with Outside that good desing can be found when garments have a purpose, “but beauty can be a purpose, too. As long as there’s some kind of end use that you’re happy with, and it’s achieving what you want it to do. Good design is modern so you are able to place it in time.”
It has been her experience and passion for creating valuable products that have helped her achieve big milestones in her career, as she continues to use her knowledge in design, she has a special message for women looking for success in any career path.
“Don’t give up. Design can be a career. Art can be a career. Have a belief that you can make it in this world. Keep your eyes and ears open for inspiration,” she declared.
