Giselle Zarur continues to break barriers as a sports journalist in the entertainment industry. This proud Mexican, who works as host for FOX Deportes, and uses her reporting skills to cover NASCAR, recently made history by becoming the first Latina pit reporter at the 2022 Daytona 500.
“It’s the first time that a Latina woman will be reporting from the pit lane, so I’m humbled and honored to be the first one, and I hope that I will be not the last one.” Giselle previously declared, as she was chosen to open the doors for a new generation of women, inspiring them to follow and accomplish their dreams.
Described as ‘the Super Bowl for NASCAR,’ the TV personality revealed that she is proud for going so far in her career, after starting her career at a young age, and working hard for the important moment, covering one of the most prestigious events in sports.
“I feel super honored and humbled for these moments because as a Latino woman, I feel proud about it, of course, but I work to be here and I want to make sure I’m not the only Latino woman to do it,” Zarur told NASCAR.
“I feel a responsibility to embrace more women to follow their dreams no matter where they are or what they want to do. For me, there’s no limits.”
Giselle pursued a successful career after discovering her passion for sports. She went on to work for Televisa Deportes in 2010, where she was recognized for her coverage of Formula 1, and interviewed many fan-favorite stars, including Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
“I started traveling all over the world, first with Televisa, then with Canal F1 Latin America, doing almost every race,” Giselle said, explaining that what she loves about sports is that “there’s always a good story to tell. You never know what’s going to happen. It never ends until it ends. That’s why I’m a sports journalist.”
