Rachel Zegler is taking Hollywood by storm! The 21-year-old actress of Colombian and Polish descent has achieved many of her dreams in the entertainment industry at a very young age.
Born on May 3, 2001 in Hackensack, New Jersey, and named after the fan-favorite character of Rachel Green from the popular TV show ‘Friends,’ Zegler made her debut with an incredible performance in Steven Spielberg’s musical drama ‘West Side Story.’
Portraying the coveted role of Maria Vasquez, casted from out of 30,000 applicants, Zegler went on to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.
“It’s so important for young people to see themselves represented... On screen, we consume so much content, especially nowadays, and we don’t even realise how affected we are by the content that we are consuming,” she shared with Wonderland magazine.
The Hollywood star was recently included on Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list, highlighting the next generation of talent on-screen, and was named one of the Breakthrough Entertainers of 2021 by AP Entertainment.
The glamorous actress has quickly adapted into the fast-paced industry, filming the superhero sequel ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ and currently working in Disney’s live-adaptation of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’
During a recent interview with Elle, Zegler shared her experience preparing for the iconic role of Snow White, revealing that it has been “a really beautiful moment for my inner child, bringing her back. We were forced to grow up very fast with all of the life changes that we went through in the last couple of years.”
