Vanessa Hauc is an award winning journalist and senior correspondent for Noticias Telemundo. Hauc was born in Lima, Peru in June 1975. Hauc has a degree in Communications and Journalism and then went on to receive her master’s degree in Economy and International Politics from the University of Miami.
Since graduation, the journalist has worked hard to become a reliable and trusted source for Hispanics in the United States, sharing important stories and current events with her community. Hauc has reported on everything from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico to Hurricane Matthew in Haiti Vanessa.
In addition to reporting the news, environmental issues are near and dear to Hauc’s heart. Her passion for concerns about the environment have led her to Rome, Italy to have conversations with Pope Francis and children from countries that were affected by natural disasters.
Leading the investigative unit on environmental issues at Telemundo Network “Planeta Tierra,” the 46-year-old has her own “Alerta Verde” segment which is all about educating others about the importance of caring for and protecting the environment.
Hauc is also the co-founder of Sachamama, which means “spirit mother of the jungle.” Sachamama is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and inform the Latino community on climate change and sustainability efforts.
