Luz María Doria is a media force in the entertainment industry. She was born in Cartagena, Colombia, but came to the United States to chase her dreams. She is the vice president and executive producer of the morning show ‘Despierta America’ in Univision. Also she writes a column for La Opinión in Los Angeles and “El Diario de NY” in New York.
She is the author of three books ( ‘La mujer de mis sueños’, ‘Tu momento estelar’, and El arte de no quedarte con las ganas’). Her work have inspired and motivated many people throughout the years. Her latest one, ‘El arte de no quedarte con las ganas : Llegó la hora de ganarle al tiempo’ invites readers to never give up, and follow their dreams while managing their time efficiently so we never look back. Time is precious, and this book talks about the importance of reaching our objectives and putting aside any excuses.
Doria studied communication in Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, where she graduated in 1986 and started her internship as a reporter in the Colombian Newspaper “El Universal de Cartagena, Colombia. The same year she started working in Editorial America (now Editorial Televisa) as reporter of the Magazine Cosmopolitan and TV y Novelas USA under the management of Cristina Saralegui.
