The strategic and creative mind behind the Latin Music streaming success in the United States

SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 11:09 AM EDT

Rocio Guerrero is Amazon Music’s Global Head of Latin Music. Founded in September 2020, Amazon Music LAT!N continues to expand its presence in the United States and Latin America.

Under Rocio’s leadership, Latin Music listening has grown at Amazon Music over the last year at a rate of 93% YOY. By using the power of Amazon‘s universe, Rocío spearheaded strategy to provide new and original avenues for Latin music artists to get closer to their fans in its first year. These included collaborations with Amazon Studios and Prime Video on J Balvin’s documentary “The Boy from Medellin” and Juanes‘ “Origen.” She also worked with Twitch and CMN to build a first-of-its-kind livestreaming channel “¡Latin UP!” where Amazon Music LAT!N offered the best Latin Music programming—from shows to interviews—with top Latin superstars like Sech, Myke Towers, and Guaynaa.

Prior to Amazon Music, Rocío was a senior member of the Warner Music Latin team as Vice President, A&R and Cross-Cultural Strategy, where she explored new artist development avenues across streaming services, helped identify emerging talent, and developed creative collaborations for Warner Music artists on a global and local level. She was also Head of Global Music Cultures at Spotify, where she built the global music expansion strategy, which was instrumental in the globalization of Latin music.

Rocío has been named to Billboard’s Latin Power Players list, as well as one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Female Executives by Billboard. She is also a member of the Latin Media and Entertainment Commission of the City of New York, and one of the Music Business’s Executive in Residence at New York University.
