Karol G

In less than five years, Karol G became one of the most celebrated female reggaeton stars of all times.

Karol G, born Carolina Giraldo Navarro in Medellín, Colombia, is known for her prominent presence in the reggaeton and Latin trap scene. Although she launched her career as a teenager, appearing on the Colombian spinoff of The X Factor, she rose to fame in 2017 after she collaborated with Puerto Rican singer and rapper Bad Bunny. The song “Ahora Me Llama” became her breakthrough hit and the lead single for her debut album Unstoppable.

A year later, her featuring song “Secreto” with Anuel AA became a hit. With the song, the Colombian star also confirmed her relationship with the Puerto Rican artist. She won the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist and received several nominations for the Billboard Latin Music Awards and Premios Lo Nuestro awards.

Karol G released her first music video in collaboration with Anuel AA, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, and Ozuna for the song “China.” The track and video became an instant hit and received over one billion views on YouTube. In 2019, her song “Tusa” with rapper Nicki Minaj became an international success. It was certified 28× Latin Platinum by the RIAA. The Spanglish song stayed on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart for 25 weeks. She also collaborated with the Jonas Brothers on the theme “X.”

In 2021, she released her third studio album, KG0516. The project has sixteen tracks, including “El Makinon,” “Contigo Voy a Muerte,” “200 Copas,” “Location,” “Bichota,” among others. It also includes guest appearances by Mariah Angeliq, Camilo, Nathy Peluso, Ozuna, Yandar & Yostin, Juanka, Brray, Ludacris, Emilee, Wisin & Yandel, Nicky Jam, Ivy Queen, Zion, and Alberto Stylee.
