Arguably, the GOAT of women’s soccer, Brazilian born Marta is one of the most successful soccer players in the modern era. Currently representing the Brazilian national team, an honor she has had since 2002, Marta dons the coveted number 10 jersey, a mark of an exceptional footballer.

Marta holds the world record for the most goals scored by (men or women) in the FIFA World Cup, at 17. She is the record holder for Brazil’s best goal scorer (men or women) at 112 goals. Marta is the only female footballer to play in 5 consecutive Olympic Games and was the first footballer (male or female) to score at five World Cups. Marta had the honor of being one of the eight athletes that carried the Brazilian Flag in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. She won silver at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic games.

Marta played for Sweden’s Umeå IK and won the UEFA Women’s Cup in 2004. She also won seven Swedish league championships in various Swedish clubs. She has won the Golden Ball (MVP) in 2004 at the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. She has won the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball in the 2007 Women’s World Cup.

Marta currently plays for Orlando Pride in Orlando, Florida and the Brazilian national team.
