If you ever needed an excuse for Margarita Monday, then today is the day! Monday, Feb. 22, marks National Margarita Day. While it might feel cold outside, you can make it feel like summer inside with a refreshing margarita. So, cue Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville” and celebrate the holiday with one of these cocktail recipes...because it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?

Spicy Strawberry Basil Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Casamigos Reposado Tequila

• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

• 2 Full Strawberries or .25 oz. Strawberry Puree by REAL

• .5 oz Simple Syrup

• 4 Basil Leaves

• 2 Serrano Slices

• 2 Dashes Peychauds Bitters

• 1/2 Thick Rim Equal Parts Salt/Sugar/Tajín

• Garnish: Large Basil Leaf and Serrano Slice

Method:

Wet rim of rocks glass with lime or lemon wedge and dip into salt mixture. Combine all of the ingredients into a tin shaker. Muddle basil/serrano. Add ice, shake vigorously and fine strain into a rimmed rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish.

Margarita Amore

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz Patrón Reposado

• .5 oz Patrón Citrónge Orange

• 1 oz Apple Juice

• .5 oz Fresh lime juice

• .5 oz Valentina-Passion Fruit Syrup*

• Garnish: Fresh Chili Pepper

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake to chill. Strain into a chilled margarita glass. Garnish with a small chili pepper.

*For Valentina-Passion Fruit Syrup:

Combine two parts passion fruit syrup to one part Valentina hot sauce and stir to combine. Store refrigerated.

Cutwater Spirits Rayador Tequila Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Cutwater Tequila Blanco

• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

• 1/2 oz Agave Syrup

• 1/2 oz Watermelon Juice

• *Optional Dash of Spicy Bitters

• Garnish: Watermelon Slice

Method:

Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake until cold and strain over fresh ice in a Tajin rimmed glass. Garnish with a watermelon slice.

The Smoked Blueberry Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1 oz Cointreau

• 2 oz Mezcal

• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

• 5-7 Smoked Blueberries

• Garnish Speared Roasted Blueberry and Rosemary Sprig

Method:

Place washed berries on a cookie sheet and smoke on the grill for 15 minutes. Add berries and Cointreau to tin and gently muddle. Add remaining ingredients with ice and shake. Fine strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with speared roasted blueberry and rosemary sprig.

Tiger Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1.5 parts Ojo de Tigre Mezcal Joven

• .5 part Ancho Reyes

• .75 part Fresh Grapefruit Juice

• .25 part Fresh Lime Juice

• .25 parts Agave Nectar

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients and shake well. Separately, add a half rim of ancho hibiscus salt* to a rocks glass and add ice cubes. Strain cocktail into the salt rimmed rocks glass over fresh ice and enjoy.

*Ancho Hibiscus Salt for Rim Garnish:

Add 1 tsp ancho chile powder, 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt and 1 tbp hibiscus tea leaves to a spice grinder and briefly blend.

Madre’s Charcoal-Infused Smokey Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz of Charcoal Infused Mezcal (44%abv preferred)

• .5 oz Agave (Organic Agave Preferred)

• .5 oz Chile Liquor (Madre uses Ancho Reyes)

• ¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice

• Sal de Gusano

• Garnish: Lime Wheel and Salt de Gusano

Method:

To make the charcoal-infused mescal, add 1.5 bar spoons of charcoal powder to one liter of bottle of mezcal. Shake for 5 seconds and let it sit for 10 min. For the margarita, rub the rim of the glass with the lime slice to make the salt stick to it. Shake the mezcal, agave, chile liquor and lime juice, then strain it and carefully pour into the glass (taking care not to dislodge any salt). Garnish with a fresh lime wheel and serve over ice.

American Social ’s Garden to Glass

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ oz Dobel Diamante Tequila

• ½ oz Garden Syrup

• 3 Cucumber Slices

• 1 oz Lime Juice

• 2 oz Q Grapefruit Soda

Method:

Muddle cucumbers and syrup. Add tequila and lime juice to a tin. Shake and then strain over fresh ice. Top with grapefruit soda.

Mijenta’s Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1.5 part Mijenta Blanco Tequila

• .75 part Fresh Lime Juice

• .25 part Bergamot Liqueur

• .5 part Agave Syrup

• Garnish: Bergamot Air and Citrus Ashes

Method:

Shake all of the ingredients vigorously with plenty ice, strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with bergamot air and citrus ashes

Grand Margarita

Ingredients:

• .75 part Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge

• 1.5 parts Espolon Reposado Tequila

• 1 part Fresh Lime Juice

• .25 part Agave Nectar

• Garnish: Lime Wheel; Salt Optional

Method:

Rim the rocks glass with fine salt (optional). Combine the ingredients in a shaker tin. Add ice and shake. Strain into a rocks glass and fresh ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

Mango Habanero Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz of Mango Habanero-Infused Blue Nectar Silver Tequila

• 1.5 oz of Sour mix

• .25 oz Triple Sec

• Garnish: Lime

Method:

Rim your glass with salt or chile lime salt. Mix ingredients in a shaker with ice. Garnish with a lime.

To Infuse Silver Tequila:

Cut up mango and put in an airtight container and pour in tequila. Infuse for 3 days. Add sliced habanero peppers and infuse for one more day. Strain. The longer the tequila infuses the more flavor and spice it will have.

1800 Cranberry Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz. 1800 Silver

• 1 oz. Frozen Cranberries, Thawed

• 1 oz. Rosemary Simple Syrup

• 1 oz. Lime Juice

• Garnish: Frozen Cranberries and Rosemary

Method:

Add 1800 Silver and thawed cranberries into a shaker. Muddle the cranberries until the tequila is pink. Add the simple syrup and lime juice to the shaker, then top with ice. Stir until cold, then strain into glasses rim with salt. Add additional frozen cranberries and rosemary as garnish.

Dano’s Tequila’s Spicy Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Dano’s Pineapple & Jalapeno Tequila

• 1 oz Cointreau

• 1 oz Lime Juice

• Garnish: Tajin Sugar/Salt Mix

Method:

Shake all of the ingredients and pour over ice into a highball or rocks glass. Garnish rim of glass with Tajin sugar/salt mix.

Traditional Manarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Teremana Blanco or Reposado

• 1 oz Lime Juice

• .5 oz Agave Nectar

Method:

Shake in a shaker with ice. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. Salud!

Smoky Casa Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Casamigos Mezcal

• 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

• .75 oz Agave Nectar

• 2 Dashes Orange Bitters

• Garnish: Flamed Orange Peel

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients into a tin shaker. Add ice, shake vigorously and strain into rocks glass. Add fresh ice and garnish.

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz Avila

• 8 Basil Leaves

• .75 oz Lime Juice

• .5 oz Orange Juice

• .5 oz Agave Nectar

• 2 Drops of Peychauds Bitters

• Ginger Beer

• Garnish: Basil Leaf and Dehydrated Lime Wheel.

Method:

Lightly muddle the basil in a tin. Add all of the other ingredients except ginger beer. Shake and double-strain over into an old fashioned glass over a large cube of ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with a basil leaf and dehydrated lime wheel.

Rancho La Gloria Spicy Gummy Mango Margarita

Ingredients:

• Chamoy Sauce

• Tajin Seasoning

• Rancho La Gloria Mango Margarita Canned Cocktail

• Lime and Ice

• Garnish: Chamoy Mango Gummy

Method:

Chamoy the rim of the glass. Coat the rim in Tajin to taste. Add ice and Rancho La Gloria Mango Margarita Canned Cocktail. Garnish with a Chamoy mango gummy. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

• 2oz Cazadores Reposado

•1 oz Lime Juice

• 4 Cucumber Slices

• 3/4oz Honey Syrup (1:1)

• 1 dash of Cholula Hot Sauce

• 1 dash of Worcestershire Sauce

Method:

Shake with ice and double strain over fresh ice.

Cuervo Peach Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Jose Cuervo® Tradicional® Plata

• 2 oz Lime Juice

• 2 oz Peach Nectar

• Ice

• Garnish: Lime and Peach; Salt for Rim

Method:

In a shaker, add ice, Jose Cuervo® Tradicional® Plata, fresh lime juice and peach nectar to taste. Run lime wedge around the rim of glass then dip the glass into salt. Garnish the glass with a lime wedge and enjoy! Serves 2. For extra summer refreshment, mix all ingredients in blender with ice for a frozen version.

Sweet Tart Mezcal Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 oz Tamarind Concentrate

• 2 ounces of Vamonos Riendo Mezca

• 1 oz Orange Juice

• 1 oz Honey

Method:

Combine in a shaker. Pour over ice.

Volley Cucumber Skinny Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1 Can of Zesty Lime Volley Tequila Seltzer

• ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice

• Sliced Limes• Sliced Cucumber

• Pinch of Kosher Salt

Method:

In a tin, muddle 5 slices of cucumber, two lime wedges, and a ½ oz of lime juice. Add one can of Zesty lime Volley Tequila seltzer and a pinch of salt. Tumble with ice and pour into your favorite margarita glass. Salt the rim in advance (optional). Enjoy!

Cilantro Margarita

Ingredients:

• 2 parts Milagro Añejo

• 1 part Fresh Lime Juice

• ¾ part Agave Nectar

• Fresh cilantro

• Garnish: Lime Wheel, Cilantro and Smoked Salt

Method:

Pour all of the ingredients into a Boston shaker. Shake and strain over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel, cilantro and smoked salt rim.
