Kate Middleton the foodie: see what the Duchess of Cambridge loves to eat

The Duchess loves to sample cuisines from around the world!

 Kate Middleton  has always expressed a love for food: whether she is baking delicious homemade cakes for her three kids or trying a new dish while on one of her many Royal tours. The Duchess of Cambridge has always had an adventurous spirit, so it’s not surprising that her outlook on life influences her outlook on food.

Today, January 9th, we celebrate The Duchess’ birthday with an appetizing list of some of her favorite things to eat, whether at home or out and about with hubby  Prince William . Here’s to more delectable dishes in the future of the 38-year-old Duchess!

Popcorn

The Duchess of Cambridge showed her love for this popped kernal during her royal tour of North America with Prince William in 2014. At a Brooklyn Nets basketball game, Kate and William could be seen munching away on some buttery popcorn.

Spicy Curry

Kate loves curry and Kate loves spicy, so it’s no surprise that she loves spicy curry. While she was preggers with Prince George, HELLO! reported that her go-to recipe was a homemade veggie version of the dish made by Indian couple Chan Shingadia and her husband Hash.

Ahead of their royal tour to India, Kate revealed that although she is a fan of spicy, William wasn’t.

Lamb meatballs

For there wedding in 2011, it was reported that Prince William and Kate served their guests a saddle of organic lamb — showing just how much The Duchess loves the meat.

While at the Taste of British Columbia Food Festival in 2016, the Royal pair also stopped by chef Vikram Vij’s stand and tried his Maharajah's Lamb Popsicles.

Sushi

During a visit to the Japan House London, Prince William revealed to Japanese chef Akira that he and Kate loved sushi.

“My wife and I love sushi. We might have to come down here for lunch when no one else is in,” shared The Duke.

Apple Chutney

In a clip from a documentary released for Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday, Kate recalls gifting Her Majesty with her grandmother’s chutney for Christmas.

The Duchess revealed, “I can remember being at Sandringham, for the first time, at Christmas. And I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present. I was thinking, 'Gosh, what should I give her?' I thought back to what would I give my own grandparents and I thought, 'I'll make her something', which could have gone horribly wrong, but I decided to make my granny’s recipe of chutney.”

The Queen loved it so much that it was included at the Christmas meal the following day.

Vegetarian dishes

While on their royal tour of India, the pair were reported to have chosen mainly vegetarian dishes. Chef Raghu Deora, was had been tasked with cooking for them, explained “It is all vegetarian because I was told that was what they preferred.”
