Pamela Anderson has long been a fashion icon, including in recent years when the actress decided to make a statement by walking the red carpet and making special appearances with little to no makeup. Back in the 90s, the star was recognized for her bold updos and head-turning outfits.
Now, more than two decades later, celebrities are once again turning to her for style inspiration, with several celebrities and stars paying tribute to her signature looks.
While many have dressed as the 'Baywatch' star for Halloween over the years, including Beyoncé last year, the most recent tribute comes from none other than Millie Bobby Brown, who is without a doubt turning to the 90s and early 2000s for fashion inspiration.
The young actress has been channeling Pamela's voluminous blonde updo throughout her press tour for Netflix's The Electric State. The 'Stranger Thing' star even revealed that she has been wearing vintage pieces straight from Pamela's wardrobe. "I'm not lying," she said on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast. "She gave me these pants for the press tour and they fit."
"'The Electric State' is based in the nineties. So I was like, 'I want everything I wear on this press tour to be nineties archive,'" she explained. "So I was like, 'Who are the major blondes in the nineties?' And I was like, 'Okay, Pammy.'"
Pamela reacts to her influence on a new generation:
Pamela is appreciative of the fact that her iconic looks are now being celebrated and emulated by a new generation.
“It gives me a little bit of confidence,” she confessed during an interview with InStyle, reflecting on the tributes. “When I was wearing these clothes, they weren’t fashionable. And they weren’t making headlines unless they were being made fun of.”
“I’m just at my happiest when I’m self-styled,” she said to the publication, revealing how empowering it is to choose her own outfits. “I know what works best on me, and it’s not always what’s in fashion,” she said about her creative process throughout the years.
