Beyoncé is no stranger to award shows and red carpet events, thanks to her incredibly successful music career that spans over 20 years. And aside from the accolades that she gets for her work, she’s often crowned the best dressed of the night thanks to her unique take on fashion trends. From her early Destiny’s Child days through to her more recent glamorous appearances, take a look back at Queen B’s best looks:
Shimmering with sequins
For the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, the singer wore a show-stopping dress. The midi frock was encrusted in sparkling golden sequins. She showed off her curves with a plunging neckline and thigh-high skirt split.
Black velvet
At the 2005 Oscars, she threw it back to the Golden Age of Hollywood in this strapless black velvet dress, showing how she can be timely and classic but always on point.
Shine on
Beyoncé once again chose a golden tone to rock the green carpet of the 2006 Grammy Awards. Adding in statement jewelry gave the strapless mermaid style dress a pop of color.
Golden touches
Designed by Alexander McQueen, this long, black, fish-tail skirted dress with golden detailing blew everyone away at the 2011 MET Gala. The peek-a-boo neckline gave a touch of drama to the elegant gown with the delicate tulle skirt adding the final touch.
Tripping the white lace fantastic
The singer rocked shorter locks and showed off her curves to the max in this figure-hugging dress by Michael Costello at the 2014 Grammys. The white lace design also featured one of Beyoncé’s favorite details – a mermaid skirt.
Straight up white
She continued with the white trend at the 2015 Oscars in this simple long white gown, accessorized with golden shoes, clutch and jewelry.
Transparent gold
Queen B dared to show some skin at the 2015 MET Gala in this elaborate Givenchy gown. The theme that year was China: Through the Looking Glass and the singer opted for a long sheer dress with golden embroidery detailing.
Feathered fancy
And in 2016, Beyonce took her style to a whole new creative level at the MTV Video Music Awards. Designed by Givenchy, her dress grabbed everyone’s attention thanks to its feathered neck and subtly transparent skirt.
Gothic glamour
Sensuality is a must in Beyonce’s closet and her ability to look elegant and sexy at the same time is one of her trademarks. At the Tidal concert of 2016, she wore a stone-encrusted, transparent dress by Guillermo Mariotto.
Green goddess
This long-sleeved emerald colored dress with a thigh-high split by Walter Méndez was chosen by Beyoncé for the Tidal charity concert in 2017.
Babies on board
Pregnant with twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, Beyonce looked stunning at the 2017 Grammys in this red sequined dress by Peter Dundas.
Blazer dress
Alexander McQueen was the chosen designer for Beyoncé’s look for the premiere of The Lion King. Embellished with jewels, the blazer dress she wore had a split in the diamond-encrusted skirt and a low neckline.
