Metallics

In addition to the hypnotic metallic finish, this silver top and skirt set by designer Rick Owens that Kim wore to the 2019 FGI Night of Stars Gala has one more added touch to make it really stand out: the asymmetric neckline. While an asymmetric cut will flatter any neckline, it really helps to show off her Kardashian curves, keeping everything in place and flattering her silhouette. She wore it with minmal accessories and a pair of transparent sandals.

Neon pink

Bright pink might be a risky choice for some, but it’s not for the reality star and beauty mogul. This isn't the first time she’s opted for a monochrome look, or bolder colors like neon green or orange. Here, for example, she teams a maxi blazer with a slightly lighter colored pair of pants with a printed detail, and then she tops off the look with nude and black boots.

Neutral and sensual

Kim Kardashian is a huge fan of neutral colors. For her, a tight, off-the-shoulder midi dress and a pair of vintage knee-high boots like these ones from Gucci are the only elements required for a monochrome look that exudes pure sensuality.

Animal print

This monochromatic trend can take an interesting turn when paired with prints featuring the same motif but slightly different shades, as Kim did with this tight and semi-sheer top, a pair of glossy pants, and some faux snakeskin boots.

Mixed prints

Not for the wallflower is this clash of serpent prints: Dior coat from the 2020 Fall collection, python pants from Gucci’s 2000 Spring collection, ankle boots by Yeezy and saddle bag seen on Gucci’s menswear catwalk, designed by Kim Jones.

Vintage leopard

One of Kims most talked about looks was the all-over leopard print catsuit with long sleeves, paired with a coat and calfskin booties. The outfit, which belonged to Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa’s 1991 Fall/Winter collection, once again demonstrated her undying love for vintage clothing.

Transparency and lace

Wild leopard spots were also seen all over this lace outfit by Alaïa, another example of what a huge fan Kim is of the late designer’s label. The ‘naked outfit’ was topped off with a fun beret and Perspex footwear.

Shiny silk

Kim shows us that selecting the softest shade of gold in order to wear it from head to toe is the best option. This color, one of the strongest trends on the fall-winter catwalks, stood out due to the silky texture of the unisex shirt and the wide-leg pants from Reuben Avenue.

Denim with a twist

Kim’s head-to-toe looks don’t leave anyone indifferent, even when it comes to widely used fabrics like denim. Her trick is to wear denim with different, bolder silhouettes like this Burberry corset top with jeans and glossy thigh-high boots, which are impossible to ignore.

Playing with textures

Kim gives muted and neutral tones a boost to by combining pieces in different textures and styles, like she did when teaming Prada’s satin top and pants with Alyx Studio’s camouflage puffer coat and Yeezy’s pointed ankle booties.

Tailored suit

Not-so-basic black, is one of Kim’s fave shades. But how does she manage to pull off wearing a suit in this color without making it look too traditional? With small details, like an oversized cut in an asymmetrical blazer worn with nothing underneath. The shoes, which go off-tone, don’t draw too much attention.

Athleisure luxe

Kim has mastered the athleisure trend very well; she mixes and matches sportswear with dressier pieces to move the bar up a notch, for example wearing loose sweatshirts with leather pants and pointed sandals. The result is a practical and versatile way of pulling off a monochrome outfit.
