Kate Middleton style: Her best wedge shoe looks

UPDATED MARCH 1, 2019 5:01 AM EST

Proving wedge heels are a timeless accessory, Kate Middleton became a massive fan of the style long before it became one of the summer's fashion biggest trends. The style icon has even chosen the shoes for one of the most memorable days in her life: when she and Prince William welcomed Prince George  and presented him to the world in 2013, so it's worth taking some inspiration from her best wedge shoe looks.

Leaving the Lindo Wing, Kate looked as radiant as ever in her now iconic polka dot blue Jenny Packham gown, which she complemented with a pair of wedges.

The mother-of-two has also loved to wear wedges for official appearances, especially ones which require her to be light on her feet – for example, when she took part in a volleyball match during a SportsAid charity event. And the stylish royal often turns to footwear king Stuart Weitzman  for her shoes.

For ultimate laidback chic, the British beauty has paired her navy blue cork wedges with a tailored blue blazer on numerous occasions, whether to complement the dazzling blue gown she wore at the 20th Commonwealth Games, or adding skinny jeans during the royal tour of New Zealand and Australia with Prince William and Prince George.

Visits abroad have often seen Kate turn to her beloved wedges – she chose her cream pair to accessorize the chic yellow dress she wore when visiting the Solomon Islands with the Duke of Cambridge.
