Jennifer Lopez is trading action thrillers for steamy office antics, and we are so here for it. The multi-hyphenate star is going back to her rom-com roots with "Office Romance," but this is far from your typical workplace meet-cute. In fact, this one might have HR sending out mandatory training emails.

Lopez stars alongside "Ted Lasso's" Brett Goldstein in the upcoming film, which just kicked off production. And honestly, Goldstein is still pinching himself. "Every day I come to work to do a rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and this incredible cast, and I expect people to jump out and tell me I'm being pranked," Goldstein joked. "Hasn't happened yet, so maybe this is real?"

Lopez took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes snaps from the set, giving fans a first look at her return to romantic comedy, this time with a scandalous workplace twist.

The Team Behind the Chaos (and Romance)

Penned by Goldstein and Joe Kelly, "Office Romance" is directed by Ol Parker ("Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again") and boasts a star-studded cast. It also brings a full-circle moment for Lopez and Edward James Olmos, who famously played her father in "Selena" (1997). Olmos is stepping back into the paternal role, again playing Lopez's father in this new film.

Lopez, Goldstein, and Kelly are also producing, alongside Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina. Executive producers include Pamela Thur and Courtney Baxter.

Who's Who in "Office Romance"?

Lopez plays Jackie Cruz, a high-powered executive who might be too involved with her colleague Daniel Blanchflower, played by Goldstein. But they're not the only ones causing chaos in the office. The cast list is packed with big names and comedy favorites, making this one of the most exciting ensemble rom-coms in years:

  • Jennifer Lopez as Jackie Cruz
  • Brett Goldstein as Daniel Blanchflower
  • Betty Gilpin as Sydney
  • Edward James Olmos as Captain Jack Cruz
  • Tony Hale as George Zein
  • Bradley Whitford as Peter Vance
  • Amy Sedaris as Julie Schatz
  • Tony Plana as Francisco Alberto
  • Roger Bart as William Butten
  • Jackie Sandler as Caroline
  • Donald Elise Watkins as Henry
  • Jodie Whittaker as Lizzy
  • Natalie Ortega as Heather
  • Mary Wiseman as Clair
  • Brian Gallivan as Frederick
  • Ali Stroker as Maggie
  • Michelle Hurd as Rachel Goldberg
  • Scott Seiss as Dave
  • Lisa Gilroy as Tanya
  • Rick Hoffman as Carl Gunderson
  • Will Sasso as Larry
  • Mo Welch as Debbie

What Can Fans Expect?

While plot details are still under wraps, it's safe to say "Office Romance" won't be your typical feel-good, PG-rated rom-com. With Goldstein's sharp wit, Jennifer Lopez's undeniable star power, and a stellar supporting cast, this movie is shaping up to be a hilarious, spicy, and unpredictable ride.

“Jackie (Lopez), President and CEO of Air Cruz, runs a tight ship in her business, including a rigid anti-fraternization policy for all her employees. When a new sexy lawyer (Goldstein) begins working for her, that policy becomes very tested," reads the film's logline, per MSN. Between workplace politics, inappropriate flirtations, and high-stakes drama, "Office Romance" is looking like the kind of film that will have fans swooning, laughing, and maybe even covering their eyes at the sheer audacity of it all.

No official release date has been announced yet, but with production underway, fans can likely expect to see "Office Romance" sometime in 2025. In the meantime, we'll be stalking Lopez's Instagram for more sneak peeks from the set.
