Jessica Alba is celebrating one of her career's most iconic roles. In a new social media post, Alba shared some of her memories of making "Sin City," which came out 20 years ago.
Alba played the role of Nancy Callahan, one of the film's most memorable parts. Through the film, Alba wears different cowboy-inspired outfits, accessorized with leather belts and hats, with her performance inspiring toys and all forms of memorabilia.
She shared a post on her Instagram, adding various screenshots and promotional shoots of the project that show her alongside some of her cast mates, including Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Clive Owen, and more.
She also shared a photo of an action figure based on her character. "20 years since Sin City was released - whaaatt?!" she captioned the post. "Forever grateful to El Jefe Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller, the entire cast + crew, and of course, Nancy Callahan - what a sweet memory and time."
The post inspired many replies. "Happy anniversary," replied Dawson, adding some black and red emojis. "Forever that girl!!" wrote someone else.
"Sin City" came out in 2005 and is based on Frank Miller's series of beloved graphic novels that follow all manner of characters belonging to the underworld, including characters that belong to the police, the mob, mercenary groups. and more. It was a commercial and critical success, premiering at Cannes Film Festival, and prompting a sequel in 2014 titled "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," which also stars Alba.
Alba is one of her generation's biggest action stars
While Alba has tried on most genres throughout her career, she's left a big dent in action films, working on multiple iconic franchises, "Fantastic Four," the TV series "Dark Angel," and more.
Last year, she released her first action film in a long hiatus, called "Trigger Warning." "This is like my first love," said Alba in an interview with MovieWeb.
"Telling stories and entertaining people, this is what I believe I was here to do in this life. And I just feel blessed that I still get to do it."
