With the release of his new 'EP Btw... Lo Intenté, Erick Brian'—formerly of CNCO—trades in boy-band polish for something much more personal. Over seven tracks, the Cuban-American artist opens up about love, heartbreak, and everything in between. This isn’t just a new project; it’s a shift. He’s no longer chasing hits. He’s telling his truth.
That shift officially began on December 5, 2024, when Erick launched his solo career with 'Feliz Año Nuevo Triste,' marking his first release as a solo artist. The track set the tone for what was to come: music rooted in emotion, storytelling, and vulnerability.
“I’m very happy to begin this new chapter in my life and career after more than a year of preparing music that truly reflects who I am."
A track-by-track glimpse into the heart
Each song on Btw... Lo Intenté comes from a real place. You can hear it in the lyrics, the delivery, and the emotion behind every word
- Feliz Año Nuevo Triste: Not every new year starts with champagne and joy. This ballad captures the quiet heartbreak that lingers after midnight.
- Aniversario: The love may be gone, but the calendar still reminds you. A track about dates that don’t let you forget what used to be.
- 12,000 KM: Long-distance love rarely goes smoothly. This one hits hard—every lyric feels like a mile between two people trying to hold on.
- PlayBoi: Smooth on the surface, but there’s pain underneath. It’s about the emotional back-and-forth when trust gets complicated.
- Honeymoon: Light, fun, and made for that first high of falling in love. The catchiest track on the EP.
- Un Poquito Más: Sometimes all you want is a little more. This mid-tempo song captures that quiet craving that doesn’t go away.
- Btw... Lo Intenté: The core of the project. Simple, raw, and real—about trying your best in love and still coming up short.
This new phase as a solo artist isn’t just a fresh start—it’s about showing the world my truth. Each song holds a part of my story, my emotions, the things I couldn’t say out loud. I hope that when you hear them, you’ll feel less alone. Because this isn’t just my story—it could be yours too.
A shift in sound and spirit
This EP feels different. Erick moves away from the polished pop of his CNCO days and leans into something more honest and stripped-down. There’s R&B, Latin rhythm, and a singer-songwriter vibe that gives the whole project more depth.
What stands out most is the focus on songwriting. Every lyric feels intentional. He’s not chasing hits—he’s saying something that matters.
Btw... Lo Intenté also marks the official start of Erick’s solo career. Alongside the release, he signed with Warner Music Latina and Big Bad Wolf Management—setting the stage for a new chapter with a great team behind him.
